  1. I am a working professional & I usually go for a light pink lippie & a black gel liner. I avoid blushers & even skip mascara & eye shadows usually, unless I am in a mood for dressing up πŸ™‚
I also use a concealer (garnier eye roll on) & a compact. No foundation.

  2. HI Harsha πŸ™‚
I have seen docs during my delivery wearing a matte thick black liner you could use this one https://makeupandbeauty.com/colorbar-eyeliner-photos-swatches/
or take the black from this one https://makeupandbeauty.com/chambor-eyeliner/
they last whole day long πŸ™‚

for lippies take colorbar adorable https://makeupandbeauty.com/35-colorbar-creme-touch-lipstick/ or blossom from the above, they look subtle and neat.
if you like mattes and want longer lasting ones, then desert rose from chambor https://makeupandbeauty.com/chambor-powder-matte-lipstick-desert-rose-review/

for face just use a lotus herbals purestay compact in your shade and done!https://makeupandbeauty.com/lotus-herbals-purestay-long-lasting-face-powderspf-20/

    1. Thankyou so much Neha for your valuable inputs and for posting my query πŸ™‚ The only problem is i just cannot apply eyeliners-have tried pencils/liquid but just couldn’t manage to get a decent straight line πŸ™ don’t know what to do….

  3. hi harsha… i am an intern myself… so i can totally relate myself to your query. (though my image at imbb nowhere shows like i am a doctor πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜› )
face- since you have not used any makeup till date, i think you should use a tinted moisturizer or a bb cream first.
eyes- you could barely get time for looking at your makeup at work, you need to have a long staying and smudge proof eyeliner/kohl. i use maybelline gel eyeliner- it does stay all through the day without any smudging.
lips – wear a long lasting matte lipcolor in a light shade because being a doctor you need to have a soft look. also when you wear mouth mask, it shall not transfer on the same. you are fair, so all light pinks and peachy browns would do good for you. for lipstick recommendations of this type, i think neha di will guide you better.
do not go for glosses, as they would neither stay nor you can afford to wear a mask with them.
    hope it helps. πŸ™‚

  4. hi harsha, u can use a bb cream to even out ur skin tone. it has sunscreen too.
then you can use a sheer lippy like loreal nutrishine/revlon balm stain/revlon lip butter/ clinique chubby stick/ maybelline baby lips (colored)… this u can keep in ur purse for touchups.
a long stay eye liner for sensitive eyes or lakme kohl ultimate for waterline is a very good option. do only one eye makeup. either on water line or on upper lid. for this, u can play with colors like brown/navy/emrald or khaki. i personally love a blackened brown eyeliner for fair skin tone. looks very flattering. also, a navy on waterline is super flattering!
lastly, keep a compact in ur purse for touchups and oil control.

for the conferences and other meets, use a mascara and a blush with the above.

  5. i was exactly going to say what neha and sahiba told just now! πŸ˜€ BB cream, smudgeproof gel eyeliner ( i would prefer brown for a subtle yet defined look), and an MLBB shade for lips, since you are fair, it can be a peachy pink lipstick. avoid blush or foundation. even kajal on waterline would tend to transfer giving you raccoon eyes πŸ™ you may even add a clear mascara to complete your look πŸ™‚

      1. Parvi, if you get acne everytime you are waxing, consult your dermatologist and he might prescribe you an antibiotic course ,starting 2 days prior to waxing and to continue 3 days after. Azithromycin may be a good option. If you have sencitive skin, try using cream epilators like veet for sensitive skin.

If you are having active acne now.. use topical clindamycin gel twice daily . Or, if severe , an oral course of antibiotic

  6. omg. me too harsha!Infact even ive got freckles…I like to stick with a medium coverage foundation {try healthy mix by bour jois} under my sunscreen {I use nivea spf 30} with either a liner or just a mascara..for lippies… stick with matte or creamy formulations as you want to achieve a polished look not I-am-here-to-party…

neat manicured nails with soft pinks or creams, nothing jazzy.Or even clear polish.
Hair always tied neatly in a pony tail with slight puff or a bun.
I dont like the plait because it feels very homely.

    thats pretty much it.
    have fun.

    1. Thanks Aditi…great tips…specially the nails and hair part πŸ™‚ would it be okay to use a foundation daily?i have heard it is not good for the skin to use a foundation daily and one should restrict it to ocassional use so till now i avoided foundations…

  7. hey harsha ,me also a doc and have faced the same problem you r facing. everything is told by neha, aparajita, and sahiba. just add a good mosturizer in it and waterproof mascara, your eyes will look wild awake during night duties .

  8. Hey. Still only in the 2nd year, but I can understand what you mean!
If you have good skin, skip foundation, just moisturise or use Garnier BB Cream. I personally like to line my upper lash line and lower waterline with MAC BlackTrack Fluidline. You can also go for Maybelline Gel Eyeliner. It lasts long and no smudging! A nice tinted balm like Revlon Just Bitten will work for you. I’m too young to wear so much color on my lips so i stick with MAC lip balm in Petting Pink. It’s just enough to make your looks baby pink, but no obvious colour. Throw on some waterproof mascara, I use TheBalm Cheater Mascara, and you’re good to go. Also, translucent powder!!!!

    Hope this helps πŸ™‚

  9. Hmnn good question…I too am a doc, anaesthesiologist and I generally don’t wear makeup. I mean I can barely get up subah subah at 5 am to cook and go to work! But if I get the time, I use some BB creme and a tinted lip balm. I vote for Nivea tinted balms or Maybelline baby lips, its cheap so you can carry it for touch ups and not feel bad if you lose it! Avoid balms in tub form. Unhygienic, more so for hospital work.

I feel avoid stuff that needs touch ups. I mean if you are an intern/resident you barely get the time to do touch ups. Plus in an infected atmosphere I wouldn’t want to do touch ups.

Use waterproof liners, if you plan to use. Coz you are likely to experience splashes on face in wards and OTs.

On call days, you may not get time to bathe/remove make up, or may get up in the middle of the night for work. So in my opinion avoid makeup on call days.

Nails you could go crazy with the toes! Finger nails ideally should be short, for your and patients safety.

  10. Feels so good to see, so many girls of the same fraternity *group hug*

Depending upon your skin type, you can use a tinted moisturiser..garnier bb cream for sheer or maybelline bb cream for a medium coverage. Top it with a compact.

If you are fair, you can opt for a brown kohl, instead of a stark black one, my reco would be colorbar cocobar, faces brown liner or bourjois pencil in smoked brown

    don’t forget to tightline

for lips – go for pinky brown shades like, colorbar bare, lakme aphrodite blush, etc etc

blush ~ totally optional, but nyx cream blush “natural” suits me ! πŸ™‚

  11. hey, I’m a doc too… my everyday make-up consists of:
-when I have some extra time: primer, foundation, compact/ loose powder, eyeliner and kohl, lipstick, blush.
-when I’m short of time: tinted moisturiser, compact, lipstick, kohl.

Since you have freckles, I’d suggest you invest in a full-coverage foundation to give your skin an even-toned look, and ofcourse one pink/mauve and one coral lipstick. A kohl is also a must for everyday wear. Buy kohl from Faces or Colorbar, they double up as eyeliners too. Also, a compact powder for touch-ups for the face (I know we never get time, but still!) πŸ˜€

  12. πŸ˜€ doctor bonding time !!! So glad to see make-up loving doctors πŸ™‚ we should start a club πŸ˜€ the doctor divas (jk) . i just finished my internship, and even on on-call days, with the groggy eyes, i couldnt lay off the eyeliner/kajal. I used maybelline eyestudio gel liner / mabelline kajal pencil (when running out of time). They made my eyes look less sleep deprived :p I used foundation often (loreal true match) , cause i have an unfortunate habit of picking on the tiniest pimples :(. But since mild freckles can be covered with a bb cream , go for it. For summers definitely wear sunscreen everyday. For lips, i used to wear maybelline color bloom in peach. Its very moist lip balm and gives a tint that stays even after the moistness is gone. If wearing a mask , obviously you wouldnt want to wear it or it will stick. Maybe you could use it onlyfor the tint and then blot it . Also recently i tried nivea fruity shine in strawberry. Its very light, and feels very moist for a long time. I did not experiment with lipsticks though.
Well go with your instincts and have fun with it πŸ™‚ some really great tips in the comments above. And in the end its all about preferences.
