  1. Very informative post! Super useful! I’m currently using Body Shop’s rainforest shine shampoo and its making my hair so sticky! It doesnt feel clean at all ๐Ÿ™ I wanna go back to my FabIndia shampoo but silicones ๐Ÿ™

    1. Thanx Ritika ๐Ÿ™‚ i know how bad it feels when ur hair feels sticky ๐Ÿ™ i have oily scalp and i suffer frm this prob so often!!!!

  2. Brown sugar is so gentle and effective and yummy for so many beauty recipes. It makes my skin so soft. I’m going to do this tomorrow. Great post, Somreeta!

    1. Demarara sugar or brown sugar will be available at Nilgiris outlets. You could as well try Godrej Nature’s Basket (:

  3. Nice post Somreeta….had never thought of exfoliating my scalp ๐Ÿ™‚ I will try exfoliating when shampooing next time ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. if you use a lot of products, baking soda works well… or mix it with an ordinary shampoo to make it clarifying.. do lemon/vinegar rinse… ta.. da…. light fluffy hair ๐Ÿ™‚
    nice post Somreetha

  5. Very nice post and great tips Somreeta…tho im not 2 sure if the brown sugar and conditioner part should be done..i’ve read that a conditioner should not be applied to the scalp but to the hair length starting from the ear level..

  6. excellent tips somreeta. honestly never gave it a thought. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am so going to include it in my hair care regime. thanks a ton. :))

  7. The bodyshop rainforest VOLUME shampoo is a total disaster for me.The conditioners of the range are good though. I guess the shampoos are not meant for oily scalp. And absolutely not for those who follow the oiling-before -shampooing -routine. ๐Ÿ™

  8. The moment I saw this article, I knew it was by you, Somreeta. ๐Ÿ˜€ It never occured to me that we could exfoliate our scalp too but now it makes perfect sense. I love the brown sugar scrub recipe. Will definitely try it out.

  9. isn’t shampooing enough ? Won’t scrubbing the the scalp stimulate more oil production. For dry hair it could be ok but for oily hair-disaster!I personally think too much and too frequent scrubbing with harsher uneven particles is not necessary not even for skin. i mean ground oatmeal is the gentlest scrub particle and ground sugar is ok for prolly once in fifteen days or so that too for people who don’t use loofahs for bathing.
