Not everyone is blessed with naturally good artistic hand at applying makeup. I am also one of them! I can barely apply an eyeliner properly. Let alone those eye shadow palettes. So today I will tell you some tips and tricks that have definitely helped me with eye makeup application.
Primer Is A Must
Half the battle is won if you are using a primer. Primer solves the problems of eyeshadow smearing or fading, oily lids, creased lids. It helps by giving a smoother base for eyeshadow. If you don’t have any primer, you can always use a concealer under your eye shadow.
Use White Eyeshadow to Intensify The Color
Do you have an eyeshadow that is very less pigmented? Fret not, just apply a white eyeshadow or liner underneath your main eyeshadow for a vibrant and more pigmented color.
Pick Colors That Make Your Eyes Pop
Just because a certain color is in vogue, does not mean it will suit every eye or skin color. Choose the colors carefully according to your liking, those will make your eyes stand out.
Get A Brush or Three
Use brushes instead of foam applicators that come with eyeshadow palettes normally (and fingers too). Brushes will help you achieve a cleaner look with easier blending of colors.
Highlight The Right Places
Bring light to right places around your eye area. Accentuate the brow bone and corners of your eyes with the right light shade to brighten your whole eye makeup up.
Be Careful with Shimmer
Shimmery shadows can accentuate creases and wrinkles and can settle into fine lines. Creamy metallic shades work better as they will not highlight the flaws in your eye area. Also, keep in mind the amount of shimmer fallout before choosing one.
Use Shadow as Liner
If you want a softer look for your eyes, you can use an eyeshadow as an eyeliner. Just wet the tip of your brush, take the desired eye shadow color and apply evenly. Use a primer with this one for sure and give it ample time to set.
Reuse Those Unusable Shadows
There might be some eyeshadows that you don’t use. You can use them by making a nice nail color out of them. Get a clear nail polish and add that eye shadow to it. Mix it properly. Your own custom made nail polish is ready to use!
Don’t Forget Your Brows
You can also use eyeshadow on your brows. Just take the color that closely resembles the color of your brows. Wet a brush, and apply in a smooth motion over your brows. Don’t overdo it though.

Eyeshadows look really sultry as eyeliners. I also struggle with eyeshadow application, hope these tips will help me too. Have not been able to find perfect eyeshadow for my brows yet.
