FabIndia Papaya Face Scrub Review

FabIndia Papaya Face Scrub

Hey IMBBians, this is my very first product review and I am really excited about it.

Indian Makeup and Beauty Blog is really a very addictive site. Its the first thing I read the minute I switch on my laptop. 🙂

Today, I will be reviewing Fabindia’s Papaya Face Scrub. After reading so many rave reviews about FabIndia’s products, I decided to try something from the FabIndia product range. So, I ordered the Papaya Face Scrub from Urbantouch.com.

FabIndia Papaya Face Scrub

Price:
Rs. 175 for 120 ml.

What FabIndia Says about Papaya Face Scrub:

Made with papaya extract and walnut grits, this scrub removes dead skin cells and opens the pores leaving your skin soft and glowing.

Ingredients:

Natural Spring Water, Multani Mitti, Kaoline, Maize Flour, Walnut Grits, Papaya Extract, SLES, Light Liquid Paraffin, Glycerine, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Triclosan, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Phenoxy Ethanol, Fragrance, Colour.

This has the same smell as Multani Mitti and some other chemical fragrances mixed in it.  (Sorry I am really bad at describing smells :P).

My Take on FabIndia Papaya Face Scrub:

Personally, I did not find this scrub that great. This scrub has really thick and harsh granules and my skin is really sensitive. I need a scrub which is milder. So, I think the Hip-Hop or the Himalaya one would be good.

So, to cut the long story short, I will quickly list out the pros and cons.

Pros of FabIndia Papaya Face Scrub

1.  Has really good ingredients pertaining to skin care like Multani Mitti, Walnut, and Papaya.
2.  Fabindia does not test on animals.
3.  Skin feels smoother.
4.  Contains Triclosan which is known to fight against pimple-causing bacteria.
5. Nice flip-flop top packaging.

Sorry, but I couldn’t find any more pros. 🙁

Cons of FabIndia Papaya Face Scrub

1.  Has Paraffin and Parabens :O, didn’t expect this from Fabindia 🙁
2.  Definitely harsh for people with sensitive skin. Might suit other skin types though, but dry-skinned people must avoid it as Multani Mitti and Papaya are specifically meant for oily skin.
3.  Little pricey and definitely not worth the money (at least for me). I think Himalaya and Hip-Hop offers better scrubs at lower prices.
4. Difficult to wash off with water. Have to rub really hard to get rid of it causing more rashes and redness to my already sensitive skin 🙁

Will I Repurchase it?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

  1. Sad this one is so harsh..i love my hip hop apricot scrub..also you could try artistry polishing scrub but yeah thats very expensivce but its quite nice and one tube would go one for really loooong 😀

  2. I was just on the verge of buying this Richa but then I changed my mind when I saw walnut grits.
I have another walnut one which I use to exfoliate my feet with   because my face can’t stand it.

  3. yes richa, even i had this one…it took me a year to finish it off since it was so harsh !!! but used to smell good. i once swatched the fabinida walnut scrub on my hands n it seemed creamier , smoother n less harsh than the papay one though i can;t be sure asi never bought it. recently, other than aroma magic waala, i ahve been using the fabindia almond body scrub on my face too n it works fine for me :lashes:

  4. Thank you for reminding me that I need a new scrub! :teeth (old one finished)
