FabIndia Silk Protein Nourishing Cream Review

FabIndia Silk Protein Nourishing Cream

Hello IMBB!!!!

I am a regular follower of cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine twice a day. I the morning I moisturize with normal moisturizer formulated for oily-combination skin while at night I use some night cream. I have been using Lakme Strawberry and Kiwi night cream for quite some time now and wanted a break from that. I at times use almond oil too. But being oily skinned that is not a good option. On my recent visit to a FabIndia store I picked this Silk Protein nourishing cream too along with the Silk Protein Shampoo. The cream claims to be formulated for dry to normal skin but I quite like the tester so I could not resist myself and bought it. Please read on further to know about the experience so far.

My experience with the cream:

There are many things which tempted me enough to buy this in spite of knowing that this is not meant for my skin type. The main factor is the presence of Almond Oil, Silk protein, Kokum butter, Olive oil and Vitamin E. All know for doing good to skin. The cream is of silk white color with very thick consistency. You literally have to put some pressure to dig out the cream. I usually do not prefer using face wash at night. I just prepare a mixture of gram flour and turmeric with a little milk or tomato juice and wash my face with the paste after massaging for about 5 minutes. This makes my skin a bit dry but nothing much bothersome. I was a bit skeptical before using as it was very-very heavy but once I massaged the cream on skin everything went on well. Initially it makes your skin heavy but after a few minutes everything settles down. Your skin absorbs the cream like dream and becomes soft as silk and smooth to touch. No heavy feeling or greasy feeling at all. In the morning you wake up with soft, supple nourished skin. You would want to touch your skin again and again. The smell is some cream smell which I just cannot describe. You can say it as a mixture of fruity+floral+creamy fragrances. It fades away after sometime, nothing worth bothering.

Pros of the cream:

  • Loaded with the goodness of Almond Oil, Olive oil, Kokum Butter and Vitamin E
  • Nice fragrance which does not sits on for long
  • Skin absorbs it within few moments
  • Did not break me out
  • Easily available
  • Inexpensive
  • A small tub will go a long way as a small amount is required per application
  • Perfect as a night cream

Cons of the cream:

  • Again the presence of complex chemical compounds bothers me
  • Gives a heavy feeling initially

Finally, I would say that this would be a boon for dry-normal skinned people but oily skinned people please consider all the pints before buying it. It worked well for me even though I have oily-combination skin. But again it depends person to person. Dry skinned people can reap itโ€™s maximum benefits without any second thoughts.
