My oily and sensitive skin loves soothing gel-based product and I have been using The Face Shop Soothing Lotus Gel since a couple of months now. I was planning to repurchase that gel and I found a new soothing gel by Fce Shop. The product name was so tempting and that forced me to pick this gel. I am talking about “Jeju Aloe Ice Refreshing Soothing Gel,” and the concept of “Ice gel” is interesting. Now, let’s get into the details.

My Experience with The Face Shop Ice Jeju Aloe Refreshing Soothing Gel:

Aloe ice gel comes in a big, semi-transparent jar with an ice blue cap. The jar is quite huge to carry and it needs more space for storage, but this 300 ml jar will last long and considering that, this product is quite affordable. Now, the jar has a clear lid that protects the product from mess too.

This is a fresh, white color, translucent gel that transforms into a gel-like watery texture once I started blending it on to skin. The formula is smooth and creamy, glides easily on skin and gets absorbed quickly too. It feels extremely light on skin, never feels sticky or greasy. I love such lightweight, water-based formula. It leaves skin very smooth and velvety matte. As a refreshing gel, it has that perfect freshness in it that instantly provides a soothing effect to skin and calms down any irritation. Also, it has that super fresh fragrance of aloe vera that feels good and such mild fragrance would suit all.

Now, coming to its effectiveness, the brand claims it to be a soothing gel, and yes, it does soothe the skin and provides great relief to any burning sensation and redness due to exposure to sun. It also soothes itchiness and skin rashes. I have super sensitive skin and anything harsh, irritates my skin badly. This is a relaxing gel that instantly reduces irritation and keeps skin fresh. Also these days, I am on some medications that cause itchiness and dryness on my skin. On most nights, I apply this gel on my body to reduce itchiness and dryness and it works like magic. This is a multipurpose gel that can be use as a facial mask too and I love to use this as a hydrating soothing mask.

The most amazing thing is that I can store this product in refrigerator so that it has an icy cool effect on my skin. If frozen, the product does change its consistency and feels like sorbet and it feels extremely cool on skin. Once I apply it on to skin, it melts like a smooth gel. I prefer to apply it as a mask and keep it on for a few minutes to get icy effect and then wipe off the excess gel from my face. In this way, this product provides the best result and totally calms down my skin providing deep hydration.

The Face Shop Ice Jeju Aloe Refreshing Soothing Gel is not only a soothing gel, it also provides good hydration to skin that heals the dryness and repairs the texture too. It’s good for dry skin too and makes skin soft, smooth and supple. It helps to improve the texture and brings a healthy effect to skin. Now it will not work during winter, but in this summer season, it’s good all skin types. Even I can mix it with my face mask too. Only it can’t control oil on skin, like if I apply it as a moisturizer then after a few hours it makes skin a bit oily. If you have oily skin then you have to use very small amount on face to avoid the oily effect. It’s best to use at home after a hot day.

Otherwise, it is an amazing multipurpose gel that has lots of benefits and works as a nice soothing gel for sensitive skin. I love to use it on my body as well. On body, it never feels oily, hence, if you have extremely dry body then it might not enough to heal the dryness but it works nice on my normal body. It keeps skin soft and smooth for long too. I love the way how it works on me.
