I bought a bunch of sheet masks from The Face Shop a long time ago, and I recently found a few lying untouched. So, I thought of giving them a try, and today I have written a review of a mask from their “Mask Lab” series. It’s the The Face Shop Mask Lab Double Wrap Face Mask.
The intensely moisturizing mask features a double-wrapping sheet with a layer of special film that locks in moisture and effectively promotes the absorption of ceramide serum. The face shop categorizes each mask according to their uses, and this one was a hydrating mask.
INR 300 for one sheet mask.
My Experience with The Face Shop Mask Lab Double Wrap Face Mask:
I have tried almost all sheet masks from “The Face Shop” that are available in India. I liked some, and some I couldn’t care less for their effects, hence I was eager to see how this one would turn out to be.
This mask is a hydrating mask, and I could find no better season to try this one. Though my skin is combination type, it is at present very dry.
On opening the package, the mask was not floating in the essence. I expected a lot of essence since this was a hydrating one. Also, the mask was covered on both sides with covering masks if that is what they are called.
On one side, there was a blue mask, I removed it and placed the mask on my face. After placing it, I was supposed to remove the second covering mask. But honestly speaking, I was not able to find it initially. Then I squeezed the end of the mask with my fingers and a tiny layer separated from it. I was worried that I had torn the mask itself.
But the second cover mask came away after a few more hardworking activities from my side. The second cover was a very thin, transparent plastic type thing. It is indeed very protective of the mask. More protective than me with my new bag!
The actual sheet mask was a thin, porous, cottony sheet. It was not very thin, but adhered well on to my face without slipping. The mask took 30 minutes to become dry in certain places. I removed it and scooped out remaining drops of essence from the pack, and patted it on to my skin.
The mask was certainly hydrating, but not very moisturizing. The same effect I can get with any other masks too. In the world of sheet masks, if it doesn’t do anything special for your skin visibly and immediately, it is not worth buying again and again. I would have certainly liked it more in summers since my skin would be more oily. Overall, this mask is an average one.
Pros of The Face Shop Mask Lab Double Wrap Face Mask:
- Very hydrating.
- Not sticky or greasy.
- The mask stayed wet for full 30 minutes even on my dry skin.
- Easy-to-use hydrating mask.
Cons of The Face Shop Mask Lab Double Wrap Face Mask:
- Not enough moisturization for winters.
- I could use cheaper alternatives to get the same effect.
- The cover was difficult to separate from the actual mask.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend The Face Shop Mask Lab Double Wrap Face Mask?
There are plenty of other options available which are worth trying at the same price, so I will repurchase this mask. I will recommend this mask to oily skin people as it doesn’t have the greasy effect as other masks.
