It’s really hot here so I do everything to feel cool and fresh amidst the weather, most especially, when I am travelling. I always bring with me face sheet mask to cool my warming face. I started doing this after reading Rati’s review on a Face Shop Mask which she used on a plane. 😀 This time, I tried The Face Shop Red Ginseng Real Nature Mask. Let me share with you my experience with it.

On The Face Shop Red Ginseng Real Nature Mask Label:

Extract grounded from valuable red ginseng 2,000 ppm contained.
A highly nourishing/ revitalizing mask sheet containing extract of six- year- old Korean red ginseng rich in saponin, a supplement to care for tired and languid skin.

Directions:

1. Pull out a sheet. 2. Unfold and place a sheet on a clean face after cleansing and toner stages. 3. Remove the sheet after 15 to 20 minutes and let the residue get absorbed deep in the skin.
Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, SD Alcohol 40- B, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Xanthan Gum, Hydrogenated Lechitin, Dimethicone, PhaseolusRadiatus Extract, BetulaPlatyphylla Japonica Bark Extract, RumexCrispus Root Extract, Carbomer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Theobroma Cacao Extract, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance.

My Experience with The Face Shop Red Ginseng Real Nature Mask:

Well, for 3 months now, I have been a very busy bee, travelling a lot lately. And with that, I am always exposed to very hot weather during the day that leads to increased oil production and sweating. Adding to that are the dirt and all that polluting stuff harsh to the skin. At times like this, the skin on my face suffers a lot. And I formed a habit of using a sheet mask while travelling in a car to somehow pacify, refresh and cool my face.

The Face Shop Red Ginseng Real Nature Mask is packaged in a beige plastic foil sachet. The mask itself is a thin, paper /cottony mask soaked/ wet with brownish red, ginseng infused solution. I felt slight slick to the solution. It is a bit dripping when I pulled it out of the sachet and the dripping solution kind of leaving a reddish stain on skin when left to dry. It has herbal, woody scent to it which I find unique but it is the scent I expect from this variant. Like Purederm masks, it has holes for the eyes, nose and mouth. There is no adhesive on either side of the mask so you can just attach to face whichever side. And though it has no adhesive, it will still adhere to the face because it is wet. It stayed on top of my face without sliding off, the whole 20 minutes that I used it.

I followed the instructions to put it on my face for 15 – 20 minutes. I love that it feels cool because it is wet. I like it even more because I did not feel any minty or mentholated type cooling sensation from it. After 20 minutes, the mask is still wet and decided to gently rubbed it on my neck for a minute. I decided to wipe the remaining solution on my face with a facial wipes since it has brownish reddish tint to it.

After using the mask, I noticed that my face feels relaxed and I feel calm as well. It feels softer and looks a bit rested too. Aside from that, it does not make any miracle changes on my skin. But it sort of gave my skin instant moisture and freshness boost it needed for the day.

The Face Shop Red Ginseng Real Nature Mask- What I Like:

-It is easy to use.
-The mask stayed on place the entire soaking time.
-The mask feels soft and gentle on skin. No stinging sensation.
-It did not cause any irritations, redness nor break outs.
-Having the mask on your face is relaxing and refreshing.
-I like the post usage results.
-It even relieved some dry parts of my face.
-It is affordable.
-They come in different variants.

The Face Shop Red Ginseng Real Nature Mask- What I Don’t Like:

-It has dimethicone and parabens.
-Reddish brown solution tends to stain skin a bit, so washing or face wipes are needed after using the mask.
-Availability.

Final Thoughts:

I like using this sheet mask most especially during a break from or even after a long day of tiresome activities or basking under the sun for this is soothing and relaxing to the skin. But I think I’ll use this one when I am at home and be very careful with it because of its brownish reddish tint. It may spoil clothes.
