Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick 1998 Review

Hello girlies,

I am back with a Too faced cosmetics review again and this time, the shade is called “1998”. My last review was on Mrs Roper. I have been collecting liquid lipsticks from every possible brand and I always fall head over heels for the Too faced cosmetics packaging. Read how this shade worked for my fair to medium Indian skin tone.

My Experience with Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick 1998:

Packaging: Most of the brands do not offer such boxes when it comes to liquid lipsticks, but I love how they do! They have the cutest packaging ever which is why this could be one of the item’s to give to your girlfriends or add to the bridal trousseau. 1998’s box is bright pink in colour and it looks apt for summers. It is a colour-coded box and nicely resembles the colour of the liquid lipstick. The liquid lipstick also has a unique-shaped packaging and since it is see-through bottle, you can easily differentiate the shades. The cap is a gold one which makes it look cuter. The wand is a nice stiff one that makes the application perfect and precise. It is handy and made up of plastic, so no worries if you drop it!

Shade: “1998” is a cool-toned pink which falls somewhere between neon and fuchsia pink. The shade has blue undertones which might not make it very apt for the Indian skin tones. The shade is great for day and evening wear too since it creates a bright pop on the lips. But, it will suit only fair skin tones. Personally, this shade is not my cup of tea and it did not look that great on me. It washes my complexion out.

Pigmentation and Finish: The pigmentation is amazing and these liquid lipsticks totally cover the pigmentation on the lips. But, this shade is very patchy unlike Mrs Roper which was smooth. It does not go smooth on the lips and the application is not that great. Most of the darker shades of this range go on smooth and pigmented, but the lighter shades are very patchy on the lips.

Staying Power: It stays put for a good time till your remove it of more than 7-8 hours. It does not smudge or budge at all. But, oily food can hinder it and remove bits of this liquid lipstick. Also, oily food will make it patchier and bad looking. You also need a good makeup remover to remove this completely.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick 1998?
No, as this shade doesn’t suit me and if you are planning to pick something up, go for the darker shades and avoid such lighter ones.
Conclusion:
Bend and Snap” is my favourite from the range, so get it as it is a very pretty magenta berry colour, perfect for Indian skin-tones. Got many more in my stash, shall review them soon.
