My Experience with Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick Queen B:
Let’s start with the packaging of the product. This liquid lipstick comes in a color-coded cardboard box with the detailing in gold fonts. The box looks classy from outside too. The box is of the same color as the lipstick. The lipstick tube is transparent has gold fonts printed on it. The shape of the lipstick tube is unique and quite different.
The tube is broad at the base and narrow at the top. The shape of the tube helps to store it easily. There is a small transparent label at the base of the tube bearing the shade name. Since, the body is transparent, it’s super easy to spot the shade if you own more than one of these in your stash. There is a long applicator attached with the cap. The applicator is typical doe-foot type. The applicator wand is long enough and apt for proper application. The slant tip of the applicator makes the lipstick glides smoothly on the lips giving a perfect pout. The tube is sleek and does not take much space in my makeup pouch. Overall, the packaging is classy and travel friendly.
“Queen B” is a beautiful soft mauve n*de shade. This shade is too light and will surely wash out darker complexion but it looks nice on fairer skin tones. It looks kind of average on my skin tone as I have medium fair complexion, so neither it is too flattering for my skin tone nor too dull. This shade can be a nice MLBB shade for some fair skinned beauties. It is subtle and suitable for those who do not prefer using bold shades on a regular basis.
This shade is apt for college or office. I have got two shades from this range. One is Queen B and other one is “Sell Out.” The second shade had already been reviewed on the blog, which is a perfect MLBB shade for my skin tone.
The finish is ultra matte. The color looks classy on the lips. Once it sets, it is absolutely transfer-proof but it is not perfectly water resistant. It looks kind of velvety after drying out completely. There is no sheen or shimmer in this lipstick. It has a mild fragrance, which is pleasing and not bothersome. The color payoff of this lipstick is amazing. It gives complete opaque coverage with a single swipe. I hardly need a second swipe with this lipstick. I apply a second coat just to even out the edges. I have applied just one coat of the lip color in the hand swatches below and you can see how opaque this lipstick looks like. It hides all the flaws and pigmentation of my lips.
The texture of the lipstick is nice, the formula is thin and smooth. It is not really watery. The formula is so smooth and nice to apply on the lips and glides effortlessly on my lips without any drag, but I find the formula of this particular shade to be slightly dry. Since, it is a matte lip color, you have to make sure that your lips are well prepped as it clings to the dry patches and highlights them badly. I always prefer exfoliating and moisturizing my lips well before applying the color on my lips. I have so many fine lines on my lips and this shade emphasizes those fine lines so much. On the other hand, “Sell Out” from the same brand looks pretty smooth and even on the lips. The comparison of the two is attached below. It does not have the problem of crumbling. This shade does not streak at all and goes evenly on the lips. The lipstick is smudge-proof and stays at place all the time. It is perfectly transfer proof and does not budge even after a full meal. The formula is lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. The lipstick dries out pretty quickly in some 40-50 seconds. So, I have to be really quick while applying the lip color for a perfect finish.
The lasting power of this shade is somewhere around 5-6 hours without any smearing or chipping of the color, but the lipstick does not survive heavy oily meals and gets removed from the center of the lips, so reapplication is required. Removing the lipstick is easy; it gets wiped of easily with a good makeup remover wipe and does not leave any stain behind.
