Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Lemon Review

Hi Everyone!

Today, I am going to review Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Lemon.  The Strawberry and Vanilla variant of this lip balm has already been reviewed on IMBB.  I am bored of Strawberry lip balms, so I thought I would try a lemon balm this time.

My Take on Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Lemon:

I had heard so much about Faces lip balm that when I got this, I had very high expectations from it. When I applied it on my lips for the first time, I was like “yuckk!” It was like I had applied oil on my lips. The taste was so weird. I was highly disappointed. Then, I thought that maybe, it has melted because of the hot humid weather, so I stored it in the refrigerator.  I applied it after a few hours and then, I realized why people like this lip balm so much and finally, it met my high expectations.

Butter Up Lip Balm 2

This lip balm comes in a regular retractable lip balm in a stick form. It has yellow paper covering. It is travel friendly and can be easily thrown in hand bags and used in colleges and work places.

Though the lip balm is yellow in color, it is non-tinted. It has a tempting citrusy fragrance, but I still feel the taste of this lip balm to be weird. It glides very smoothly on lips and is buttery soft in texture. It leaves a nice luscious glow on lips and does not form a whitish cast on lips even when used in excess.

Butter Up Lip Balm 3

I find this lip balm to be extremely moisturising. It definitely heals chapped lips. When applied in the night, my lips feel super smooth and soft when I wake up. This lip balm does not give any waxy or oily feeling on the lips. It is not at all sticky and feels very light on the lips. I think when I applied it for the first time, because of it being in the melted form, I felt it’s oily as it contains so many oils as its ingredients. The staying power of this lip balm is about 2-3 hours.

Butter Up Lip Balm 4

It takes some time to be absorbed, which is a drawback.  The lipsticks have a tendency to bleed and smudge when applied over this lip balm because of its tendency to absorb late. But, it’s going to form a good base for matte and dry lipsticks.

Pros of Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Lemon:

  • Not tinted.
  • Will form a good base for dry lipsticks.
  • Extremely moisturising.
  • Heals chapped lips.
  • Tempting citrusy fragrance.
  • It is not waxy, sticky and feels very light on the lips.
  • Does not form a whitish cast on the lips.
  • Smooth texture.
  • Decent staying power.
  • Affordable.

Cons of Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Lemon:

  • Moisturising lipsticks can bleed or smudge when used over it.
  • Weird taste.
  • Needs to be refrigerated.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5.

Will I Repurchase/Do I Recommend Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Lemon?

Yes. This lip balm has a few cons, but still its amazing at its job of moisturising the lips and on top of it, is not at all waxy or oily and gives a nice luscious sheen to the lips.
