How are you all, hope you all are enjoying the weather. It is quite pleasant here in Mumbai. The showers are really blissful, but I still haven’t got wet in the rains. I usually do that every year, either go for a walk or go for a ride on the bike when it rains. So, how do you girls enjoy this beautiful weather? Okay, before I go on and on. Today, I am reviewing yet another lip balm that I got a few months back.
It’s called Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Strawberry.
Butter up, the deliciously rich and nourishing Lip balm from FACES, keeps your lips soft and luscious. Its super hydrating formula gives you a reason to smile always!

My Take on Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Strawberry:
I am always on a hunt for a good lip balm. I have had chapped lips since last winter and on top of that I am totally digging into matte lip colors these days and that worsens the condition.
So, I make sure I apply a good lip balm underneath my lip colors and also throughout the day if I don’t have a lip color on.
So, as you can see, this is a tinted lip balm and although very sheer, the color does show up on the lips. I find that the color doesn’t show up evenly on the lips, i.e., the color settles at the boundary or edge of the lips.
As the name suggests, I thought this would be far more solid and buttery, but it is not very buttery. In fact, it is very light and non sticky in texture. It glides easily on the lips. It takes quite some time to absorb. My lips don’t feel buttery soft when the lip balm is on my lips, but when the lip balm is gone, my lips feel moisturised. In fact they feel quite soft the next day. I am not sure if it works well for extremely chapped lips.
It lasts for about 2 hours or a little more than that, after which one will have to reapply this lip balm.
It is quite a slippery lip balm, hence not a great product if you want to apply this under your lip color as the lipstick would slip off to the edges of the lips and since it is tinted, it does change the color of your lip color.
It has a strawberry bubblegum kind of fragrance. Fragrance is quite strong, but fades away after some time.
Overall, this is a good lip balm. 🙂
Pros of Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Strawberry:
- Makes my lips soft.
- Adds a lovely tint to the lips.
- Non sticky.
Cons of Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Strawberry:
- The color shows up unevenly on the lips.
- It is slippery and hence not that great if you wish to apply this below your lipstick.
Will I Buy Faces Butter Up Lip Balm in Strawberry?
I like my lip balms to give me that buttery feel and absorb fast, so on those grounds, I don’t think I will repurchase this, but will try other variants from this range.
