Faces Canada Glitter Stackables Review

Product Description:

A set of glitter in 6 eclectic colors. This array of loose glitters comes in an interesting row of small jars stacked over one another so that they resemble the rainbow. Mix with transforming gel for a long lasting, dramatic effect and use as you fancy. This product is great for dramatic makeup for club night outs, theatre and dance performances.

Price:

Rs. 499 for 14 g.

I love the unique packaging and glitter! Combine the two and Faces Cosmetics found a customer in me. I love their Stackables (a few of them have been reviewed on IMBB here and here) and I’m sure whoever owns these will appreciate them! As you can see, the one I got was the glitter stackables, ordered online.

It has 6 glitter shades:

Faces Canada Glitter Stackables

  • White (multichrome – with blue/green/yellow).
  • Red (true red).
  • Blue (true blue with tealish highlight).
  • Purple (true purple).
  • Gold (true gold).
  • Silver (true silver).

I love that “you get what you see” with these glitters.  Each speck shows its color on application, exactly like it appears in the jars.  So whether you apply a huge amount or a tiny amount, you will get a glittery effect nonetheless! These are pure glitter.  There is no color pigment in these.  If you apply it without any base, your skin will show through.  So, apply a base color if you need to, it will make the glitter pop out! I like that they have tiny-tiny particles to it, so on application, they look very delicate and from far appear as just shimmer on your eyes that glints as lights falls on it at different angles, beautiful effect!

The jars have a good quality to them, feel very secure, but you have to be careful about screwing them properly on the threads or glitter will fall through if you place the stack horizontally and you have to open each jar only by holding it firmly upright. I do though wish that they had their own removable lids, so that I could store them individually if I wanted to. Though are very easy to manage and yes, do look very pretty racked like that!

As with any glitter, they do tend to have fallout; if you apply a good base or primer, they stick on well though. They also adhere to foundation/concealer that I apply on to the eyes.  For very true and rich color, use a base like NYX Eyeshadow Base or Jumbo Pencil (that is what I use, either White or Milk), then apply an eyeshadow of the color of glitter and then place the glitter over it.

Faces Glitter Eyeshadows

I recommend you use a flat synthetic brush to pick up, pack on the glitter, as the glitter particles will get lost in the bristles of natural brushes and always pat your glitter wherever you want it, never brush it around as you would a normal eye shadow, as it will cause more fall out. Another way could be to use eye lash glue that dries clear, apply a sheer layer of it on base/bare lid/eyeshadow/anything and then once it starts getting just a little tacky, apply the glitter particles over it to ensure they stick on very well. You can also hold a tissue under eye to catch any fallout if you do not have the glue. If there is any fallout, just brush it away.

Glitter Eyeshadow

Pros of Faces Canada Glitter Stackables:

  • True color, appears on eyes/face exactly as you see them in the jar.
  • Each particle is uniformly colored, no random silver/white glitter particles mixed in.
  • White shade has a multi-chrome effect, different base shades, will bring out different effects to the glitter.
  • Tiny glitter particles are easy to stick on and stay put.
  • Workable with even foundation/concealer as base, an eye shadow base/primer/lash glue/glitter glue are not VITAL, but will surely enhance its performance.
  • Cute packaging.
  • Six shades for less than Rs. 500 is amazing for a good quality product.
  • The colors included are all unique and very usable. No flashy or colors that we rarely use.
  • Comfortably layer-able, the more the glitter you apply, the stronger the look, the less the glitter the more subtle the effect.

Cons of Faces Canada Glitter Stackables:

  • Will have fallout, as with any glitter.
  • You do need a certain knack to use loose glitters/pigments, but practice will surely make you better.
  • Cannot store/carry a jar individually if you wanted to.

Would I Recommend Faces Sparkle Glitter Stackables?

Definitely and to anyone who loves working with glitter and also to anyone who wants to try using glitters, this is a very good price to start experimenting with them.

Rating:

4.8/5, deducting purely out of the fact that I can’t store/carry them individually.

Hope this helped!

Happy Makeuping! 😀

    1. 😀 I’m glad Rati put up links on how to apply it! I personally would recommend using it with lash glue that dries clear. Lash glue is available commonly na nowadays… i almost licked these!!! they look so good na!

    1. :headbang: I should have included that this can be used for nail art too…just apply on wet polish & it sets dry & doesn’t fall off! I actually tried this after I submitted the article, so maybe you can try it that way 🙂

    1. You should give it a go again, I couldn’t initially too but if you watch some tutorials or read the articles about glitter on this page it might help you! Give it a go I say! 🙂

  4. I have these!

I use glitter on my clients by applying a bit of eyelash glue on the eyelid and then pat these on it. They stay longer than they would with just primer. 🙂
