My Experience with Faces Canada Go Chic Lipstick – Tango:
I love oranges both as a color and as a fruit. Today’s shade is somewhat similar to orange. So far, this is my second orange lipstick, the first being Colorbar’s Obsessed Orange, which is a pure yellow-based orange. I quite liked it, but whenever I used to wear that lipstick, it made me look like I just had an orange popsicle and that does not look very flattering, mostly because it was a lot more yellow toned. Anyway, I am glad to have come across this one, as it suits my skin tone really well.
The lipstick comes in a really simple black glossy packaging, which is quite sturdy and fictional. The color Tango is a pure orange color with the barest hint of pink in it. One cannot tell that unless it is swatched side by side along with an orange lipstick, but it does make a lot of difference on face; it is a bright shade and instantly brightens the face. This shade is definitely on the bold side, and along with this lipstick, the rest of the makeup has to be kept simple. It will go with most orange and coral blushes. It is completely matte, with no shimmer or frost, and has a semi matte effect. The color will suit Indian skin tones really well, especially medium to darker skin tones as it is a warmer shade. It is slightly different but a very wearable orange color.
The texture is smooth and glides quite easily on lips. It is moisturizing and a lip balm underneath is not necessary, but for extremely dry lips, it is good to use one. It is not very drying and does not dry out the lips when worn for long, but at the same time, is not very creamy as well. It feels very comfortable on the lips and is light weight. It looks great as a stain as well. It does not bleed much and a lip liner underneath is not necessary.
The pigmentation of this one is good when compared to Prairie Pink, it gives good color payoff in a single swipe and two layers are required for opaque coverage; it will mostly cover pigmented lips as well. Even after layering, it does not look or feel patchy or heavy.
One slightly disappointing fact is that it settles a lot into fine lines, so a light exfoliation and prepping lips helps a lot prior to application. Because it tends to settle into fine lines, it is not the best option for super dry lips. It stays for a good 3 hours without meals after which one may need to reapply. It does transfer slightly; it fades quite evenly leaving behind a pretty stain. Overall, considering the price point, it does fare quite well.
