I’m back with another product review, and this time a lip pencil from Faces Canada. This is the first lip product I own from the brand.

My Experience with Faces Canada Lip Contour in Red Hotie :

Packaging – These lip pencils come in the colour of their nature. I love how nicely their packaged that way. They are covered by a plastic cap and the name as well as the shelf life is embossed on the pencil. The colourful pencils help in recognizing which shade it is if you own more than one of these beauties.

Pigmentation – The colour pay-off is amazing. One swipe gives a true red. The colour starts to get darker with every swipe, though. I don’t mind that because all I need is 1-2 swipes and I’m a happy girl 😀 Oh and did I mention, this is my first ever red lip liner?! It really is good purchase for being a first 😀

Staying Power – The lip liner stays for a good 3-4 hours without bleeding. It settles into a matte finish so obviously has a long life. It transfers initially but then does not budge and survives light meals which is good enough for me.

Texture – It’s an orange-based red color. I have a cool skin tone and if swiped too much, the colour starts to get a little dark, like a blood red instead of a bright red. It might tug/pull dry lips so it’s always better to apply lip balm prior application. I outline my lips with the lip pencil and then blend it.

• It can be used as a lip colour itself.
• Creamy and smooth texture.
• Matte finish.
• Does not transfer.
• Not very expensive as compared to its competitors.
• Does not budge and survives light meals.

Flaws of Faces Canada Lip Contour in Red Hotie :

• Non-retractable.
• Dry; very dry lipped beauties will need to apply a lip balm underneath.
• Will accentuate fine lines, so you need to exfoliate those lips prior application.

Conclusion :
It’s a gorgeous red with a pretty packaging. All the information you need about the pencil is already on it and I love how nicely they all come in colourful pencils. This shade is a universal colour and will suit everyone. A total must buy for people who love red lip colours!
