My Views on Faces Go Chic Lip Gloss Apricot Fizz:
I bought this lip gloss during the year end sale in December along with some other stuff from “Faces” brand. Till now, you must have judged my love for this brand as I use quite some great stuff including lipsticks, blushes, eye shadows, face wash and now this gloss too from Faces Cosmetics. Needless to say, I am yet to come across something from Faces that has not impressed me 😛
I picked this up while leaving the Faces counter as both the shade and the price seemed just right. You all must have seen the “Go Chic” lipstick reviews. I don’t own one of those, but still from what information I have gathered, I can easily say that these “Go Chic” lip glosses are a better option to choose over the lipsticks. :specs:
Shade and Texture:
Apricot Fizz is a completely matte, medium brown lip gloss. The gloss gives a wet shine kind of texture that I simply adore. The gloss is nicely pigmented and swiping once gives just a natural-looking shade on to the lips. I prefer swiping twice to build the color further. The matte coffee brown shade is perfect for daily wear and working ladies/college girls who prefer subtle yet an elegant look.
The gloss is very moisturising and feels light on application. It has a mild fruity fragrance that vanishes after a while of application. The gloss is not easily transferrable, but it is a little bit sticky compared to the other glosses I own and I compare this with the good staying power the gloss that it provides.
The gloss claims to be long lasting and yes, it does last for 4 plus hours on me when swiped twice. In between, I had a heavy brunch and a nap of half an hour. Though the color had lost its intensity, still the shine was easily noticeable even after 3 hours.
Here are the chances of improvement. I did not find the white plastic cap appealing or nice. The applicator wand is also quite small in size. The short fat cap is a bit difficult to hold. The wand though picks up enough amount of gloss to apply once; still I dip it in twice for a more liberal application. Overall, the see-through plastic packaging is very durable and spill proof.
Pros of Faces Go Chic Lip Gloss Apricot Fizz:
- Unbeatable low price.
- Comes in 12 nice matte shades to choose from.
- Gives a lovely wet kind of shine to the lips.
- Quite moisturising even in the dry weather.
- Stays on for 4 hours easily with a full meal in between.
- Medium and buildable pigmentation.
- Durable packaging.
- Not easily transferrable.
Cons of Faces Go Chic Lip Gloss Apricot Fizz:
- Unattractive packaging.
- A bit sticky but that is because it claimed to be long lasting.
Do I Recommend/Will I Repurchase Faces Go Chic Lip Gloss Apricot Fizz?
Yes, I want to pick at least one more shade from this range, but after seeing the swatches at the counter. If you are a gloss lover and prefer matte over shimmer, then this is surely a fabulous product for you and that too at a very affordable price. :woot:
