I don’t know when and how to stop, meanwhile I hope I can help you red lip lovers to select some thing nice and affordable. I just realised I have way too many deep reds and I mainly reach out for my nude lipsticks, but this is a recent addition to my collection purchased from the Forum Mall (Nandini :P). They have a stand-alone Faces counter that was in the middle of being set up, but I just hogged on lipsticks that I know may not be available here in Chennai or I haven’t seen them online either; and one such color is “Red Diva.”
We have all seen the Poppy Red on IMBB. I would say they are close, but the Poppy Red one is orangey and this one is brick shade. So, take your call. Meanwhile, I am liking this one better to wear casually after blotting off the sheen from it, but Poppy Red is pretty as well. I think any red if worn properly can really bring out a glow on your face and make your complexion shine through.
This range I believe is affordable at just Rs. 199 and with so many shades available from every color family, and it surprises me. This one is even better than the Colorbar Velvet Matte lipsticks, which has been down in the dumps now due to its staining formula (I won’t stop until Colorbar listens). This Go Chic lipstick meanwhile comes with a great packing; shiny tube, full deep pigmented color and that oh-so-moisturised lip feel.
I have worn two coats blotted because I really can’t wear a red lip with some sheen on it and something like red lips with gloss on top would attract a lot of attention. Hence, I blotted it off after two coats and that makes it very matte and wearable. Otherwise, this one has a nice sheen to it, like a glistening effect which you may like. For me, I prefer it matte.
The texture is very smooth and soft, almost creamy, but still it feels hard, unlike Satin Mattes, hence I don’t think they are unsafe in the heat.
The range is very nicely pigmented, deep full-coverage color, and everything else I would want from a lipstick. I don’t know why they have priced it at Rs. 199 while their other lipsticks cost around Rs. 300 or more, and their worst ones in Glam range cost Rs. 400 or more! Why is that the best ones are priced so less, but that makes them the best I guess (I love Satin Mattes from Faces though). It might be that they have a long of list of chemicals to be ashamed of. They mention so many scary chemicals on the pack that I don’t want any sensitive lipped girl to try these on.
A very deep, nicely pigmented, pretty, wearable red for me. Beware of the chemical ingredients mentioned in case you feel any sensitivity honestly, but otherwise a great affordable red lipstick for keeps!.
4/5 (the chemicals scare me, but at least, they have been mentioned).
I need to review some more red lipsticks from my Bangalore lipstick haul and then I am doing a full on red lipstick collection I have, red lipstick lovers rejoice!
