My Experience with Faces Glam On Prime Perfect Pressed Powder:
I have never ever tried any compacts or pressed powders as such from Faces, so I started my journey with this one. The Faces pressed powder belongs to the newly launched or probably re-invented “Glam On” range. It comes in a very basic black box with just its name written on it in gold. It also has a few things written at the back in gold. The quality looks pretty okay because the gold fonts wore off from behind very easily, making it difficult to read the claims. The pressed powder comes in a circular, transparent packaging in combination with gold. Very basic! I wish it were more catchy.
The container has the pressed powder, a little mirror and an application puff. The puff is of very good quality and super gentle on the skin. The compact is easy to carry and does not cause much fallout during application. The texture of the pressed powder is very smooth and fine. It has a faint compact-type smell, which is pleasant. Only a little quantity is needed at once and it spreads effectively and smoothly on the face with the puff. My face instant looks very fresh and bright. It totally awakens my dull and tired skin. It makes my skin tone appear fairer than usual.
The shade I picked up is ‘Ivory’, and this is perfect for fair skin and it blends very well with my skin tone. The finish is very natural, and it does not feel heavy at any point. It feels like there is nothing on my face because it looks just like my skin, but better. It has light to medium coverage and it does brighten up dark circles, making them look less dark and also hides very minor blemishes and redness. I have combination skin which does turn oily at a point and this keeps my skin matte for 3-4 hours which is good. Although I could see a little oil gushing on my face, it wasn’t noticeable.
But when I have to step out it the hot sun, the matte effect lasts only for 2 hours. It can be used for sensitive and acne-prone skin too because it did not break me out. But that might differ if you have very oily skin. The coverage of the pressed powder stays for 4-5 hours maximum, and then my actual skin starts to appear. The name “Glam On” isn’t very appropriate because this doesn’t work like an instant beautifier; it works like any regular compacts. Hence, I have to say that it is a good pick for all skin types and the quality is really good too. But on the other side, it’s not difficult to find its dupe.
Pros of Faces Glam On Prime Perfect Pressed Powder:
• Travel friendly packaging, and it does not break into bits even if dropped
• The quality of the pressed powder and the puff is damn good
• The puff is super soft and glides very gently on my face
• It does not cause much fallout
• It gives a very natural finish and creates the “no makeup” look
• It makes my skin look very fresh, bright and fairer than usual
• It gives light to medium coverage and reduces the appearance of dark circles and minor blemishes
• It combats oil, and keeps my skin matte for 3-4 hours in the current season
• Stays on my face for 4-5 hours
Cons of Faces Glam On Prime Perfect Pressed Powder:
• It is on the pricey side
• The name “Glam On” is a hyperbole; it works just like other compacts – good but average
• It can be easily duped and that too at a lower cost
• The packaging is okayish
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Faces Glam On Prime Perfect Pressed Powder?
No, I wouldn’t. Try it at the counter and then pick it up because not all may find it worth the money. I picked up the Maybelline White Superfresh 12HR Whitening + Perfecting Compact and it worked in the similar way, and the price is way too low. Hence the Maybelline one is a perfect dupe and works better than this.
