My Take on Faces Minerals Lip Color – Maple Fudge Review and Swatches:
The ongoing slashed prices on my loved and respected brand has made me buy this lipstick. I was getting it at half the price, so why not give another lipstick from this range a try. I had already reviewed Passion Rose from the same range. Faces Mineral range of lipsticks offers a nice creamy and a high shine lip color that is very hydrating and pigmented.
The color is a normal brown lip color that is quite pigmented and comes off well with a single stroke. The pigmentation is buildable and comes off as a medium brown color on the lips. It is an easy-to-carry, everyday wear kind of a shade which would be an MLBB color for ladies with pigmented lips. On my medium to fair skin tone, it comes off as a nice medium coffee color.
Swatches (T-B): single swipe and 3 swipes (with flash and in natural light)
The lipstick has a creamy texture that makes it easy to apply. Pigmentation is medium to buildable. Shade is completely matte but it has a satin finish. It would look nice as a daytime wear, but for night time, you may have to top it off with a gloss. The shade would not bleed at all and it keeps the lips totally moisturized.
The lip color stays on an average 3 hours on me with a meal in between. This particular shade does not leave a strong stain kind of effect, but fades into a more natural-looking lip color that stays on an hour more.
It comes in a nice and sturdy matte black case and the bullet inside is equally sturdy. No chance of melting of the lip color in hot weather too.
Pros of Faces Minerals Lip Color – Maple Fudge:
- Creamy, satin smooth texture.
- Medium to buildable pigmentation.
- Hydrating formulation, eliminates the need for a lip balm.
- Survives light snacks easily, but fades away to a natural-looking tint after a full meal.
- Simple yet sturdy packaging.
- Color will not at all bleed or feather away, so you can avoid a lip liner too.
- Has a light texture that does not settle in fine lines.
- Stays on around 3-4 hours easily.
Not-So-Good Facts about Faces Minerals Lip Color – Maple Fudge:
- Limited shade selection, there are just 6 shades in this range out of which I have got the prettier two.
- One can find almost similar-looking dupes of this color easily in other brands too.
Do I Recommend/Will I Repurchase Faces Minerals Lip Color – Maple Fudge:
As I have already got the 2 shades I was looking for in this range, I would not be buying it again, but would look for the satin matte range that has more shades to offer. I recommend this range (mineral lip color) to all who have the problem of dry lips as this range offers nice hydrating lip colors.
