I know I have a lot of lipsticks, but it is these kind of lipsticks that make me go weak in the knees honestly. Now, see I like creamy luscious or matte lipsticks with no frost, no shimmer or glitter and I can wear any color. Off late, I have been into mauves and pinks since I realized that browns and bricks can make you look a little suave, but as for mauves, they look sophisticated yet perky and lifts up the face. Such is the color that I am reviewing today which is a stunning, soft, mauve-pink-purple that you simply cannot ignore!
I am a huge fan of Faces lipsticks, particularly in the “Satin Matte” range. I think these are the best lipsticks available for around Rs. 300 and exactly the texture I need; soft, buttery, creamy, and pigmented lipsticks that is a treat to dry lips. I think they should come up with more shades. I have reviewed some gorgeous shades, i.e., Mulberry, Berry Brown, Jazz Berry Jam, do check them out.
The packing of these lipsticks is cute, decent which comprises of a nice shiny black case with some soft lipstick inside. The lipsticks are so buttery that they do not retain their shape and have to be stored in a cooler place and may dent easily. I think these can be best applied with a lip brush, but I think I am going to finish this one off soon enough because the kind of texture this has, a lot of lipstick forms a layer on the lips.
Remember its not a sheer lipstick, it is thickly pigmented. The shade is a very pretty mauve-pink kind of a color and it is truer on my lips than on the swatch. I have no idea why it shows up as a brown on the hand. I have layered it up more on the lips and hence it is more mauve on my lips, which is true to the color.
The shade is soft and gets transferred easily on to cups, etc. You can dab a single ply tissue on it to remove the excess if needed. The texture fills in the fine lines and overall lips look saucy and fuller every time. It stays easily for three hours and fades nicely.
Last Word on Faces Satin Matte Lipstick: Imperial Purple:
One of the best lipsticks around, “Satin Matte” is a range from where we all must have some shade or the other. I really love the texture of these lipsticks and Mulberry, this shade, and Jazz Berry Jam are must haves. Remember, these aren’t matte as the name suggests, these are creamy and saucy lipsticks.
The color is true on the lips than in the swatch. Did you know Faces Satin Matte has come up with same shades on their “Moisture Rich” range too with more moisture? I saw them on the stand-alone counter at Forum Mall, Bengaluru.
