I am getting obsessed with lipsticks so much. I have got a few lipsticks from Faces. Today, I am reviewing the shade “Secret Affair” from its Pro Long Wear range. Read on to know how it fared for me.

My Experience with Faces Faces Secret Affair Ultime Pro Long Wear Matte Lipstick:

Starting from the packaging of the lipstick, the lipstick comes in a long and sleek plastic packaging. The matte black tube looks classy. The cap of the lipstick is also of the same color of the tube and shuts tightly with a click sound. The base of the tube bears a color-coded sticker bearing the shade number and shade name. The lipstick tube bears the brand’s tagline engraved on it in silver fonts. The packaging of the lipstick is very lightweight and handy. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel friendly.

The shade “Secret Affair” is a tomato red kind of shade with slightly cooler undertones. The color brightens up my face instantly. The shade is not over the top and it is easily wearable. I have two similar shades like this. One is Lakme Absolute “Red Flames” Sculpt Hi-Definition Matte Lipstick and other one is from Maybelline “Big Apple Red” Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipstick.

This lipstick is absolutely free from sheen or shimmers. The formula is decently pigmented. One swipe gives almost a semi-opaque finish. This nicely pigmented lipstick hides the pigmentation of the lips very well. Two swipes of this lipstick give a nice opaque finish. The lipstick looks slightly creamy initially. But sets to a perfect matte finish in a few minutes.

The texture is super creamy. It feels so smooth. The lipstick glides effortlessly on the lips without any tugging or pulling of the lips. The formula is very light weight. The lipstick feels super comfortable on the lips. The lipstick hugs the lips very nicely and it does not feel like sitting on my lips. The formula is nice and moisturizing. It keeps my lips moisturized for long time. The lipstick provides some hydration to my lips. My lips do not feel dry even when the lipstick is gone.

The lipstick lasts for some 5-6 hours on my lips with normal sipping. But the lipstick does not survive any meal and fades out from the inner corners of the lips leaving a stain behind. It requires reapplication after meals. The lipstick does not budge at all even after so many hours of application. I am glad this does not bleed after meals. It never gets patchy. I did not notice any settling down of the color into the fine lines of the lips. Removing the lipstick is slightly difficult. A good makeup remover will be able to remove the stain left behind. Overall, it is a nice lipstick. What more can you ask for!

Yes, if you love to collect red lipstick. I am a red lipstick lover and love to collect variety of reds but as I already own so many similar red, I may not get this one again. But will surely try other shades from this range.
