My Experience with Faces Ultime Pro Matte Lip Crayon in Really Rust 07:
Along with the other Ultime Pro purchases, my recent Ultime Pro purchases were also the matte lip crayons. I decided to go with them as I was really pleased by the swatches. I had no idea of picking any starry matte when I had made the purchase then. Having a vanity filled with gloss tubes packed with shimmer and shine I craved for more of mattes and having developed a bond with the ultime pro range, I thought I will pick the safest three shades that I might not skip wearing and those happened to be, ‘Really Rust 07’, ‘Peach Me 08’ and ‘Wrapped Up 09’. You can see the swatches and now I shall go into the detailed review of the first one.
Packaging: These lip crayons come in a short yet a quite sleek tube, just perfect to pocket in a clutch. The cap is a simple transparent plastic cap where you would see the price and shelf life mentioned but do not bother looking for the ingredient list as it would not be mentioned. These crayons are not twist type which I am not used to. It is very rare to see such a product lying in my kit. There is a lot of product wastage and the price you pay for such minimal quantity can be disappointing. I like the fact that these tubes carry names along with the number both specified in the mid-section of the crayon making it easy to spot.
Color: ‘Really Rust’ is a smooth brick orange-red shade that can really complement fair-complexioned beauties very well. If you want a bright color with a subtle finish, then this beautiful hybrid of orange and red can be one. If you prefer, you can coat this color with a neutral-shade gloss that would give it a little shine.
Coverage: It offers an uneven coverage and needs multiple swipes to neatly finish it off. The lip crayon no matter how pigmented offers a semi-opaque coverage. The coverage is such that it creases and settles into fine lines which are eventually unpleasant a sight as the product settles onto your lips.
Texture and finish: These lip crayons that carry a barely noticeable fragrance are light and non-sticky on the lips. They are perfect to use when you are rushing. A single swipe to get a decent amount of color payoff on the lips should do a rough job. Be prepared for an uneven finish by which I mean even when you do neat strokes on the lips, you are bound to get an uneven color payoff no matter how pigmented the color might be. Light or dark, these lip crayons offer a full-on matte finish which is another good thing. The texture although light is quite dry on the lips and not advisable for winters. If you’ve got dry or chapped lips, then these lip crayons cannot be your friend.
Pigmentation and staying power: For a lip crayon, it is well pigmented although the overall performance is not up to the mark, the finish is such. ‘Really Rust’ renders a beautiful color in one swipe. I would advise multiple swipes and filling in the gaps and corners for a neat finish and for it to last long. The lip crayon has a mediocre staying power where it can last a drink and a snack post which it leaves a pretty stained lip. After a full meal, it does require re-application which is easy and also since you get a free sharpener along, the precision must be okay for re-application. The lip crayons do not transfer to the cutlery or the cups and neither do they smudge but they do give that flaky patchy lips eventually with a snack maybe which is not pleasant to look at.
Not entirely true to claims, these lip crayons come in a set of pretty shades to choose from along with the cons. I think the free sharpener that came along with it was my only small consolation. 😛

Cons of Faces Ultime Pro Matte Lip Crayon in Really Rust 07:
• No ingredient list.
• Since it is not twist type, sharpening the crayon leads to product wastage.

• Application is not smooth in the sense of not giving an even finish.
• Eventually upon fading, it leaves uneven flaky bits of the product behind along with the stain.
IMBB Rating: 4/5
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Faces Ultime Pro Matte Lip Crayon in Really Rust 07?
I would definitely recommend this lip crayon for the color but I do not see myself repurchasing for one simple reason which is it is not twist type. If you really like subtle mattes that you could wear anytime I would recommend this but only if you are prepared to handle the cons.
A rustic bright matte lip color that I am happy to own!
