I’m going to begin by saying that I’m not a Kajal girl. I’m just not. I rarely ever use one, but if I happen to fall in love with one, it keeps on. I was looking for a purple eyeliner actually, but then I came across this Matte grey one from Faces and forgot all about the colour purple. If you haven’t already read the title, this review is about the Faces Ultime Pro Mystic Kajal in the shade “Grey”.

My Experience with Faces Ultime Pro Mystic Kajal Grey 04:
The packaging is rather nice, it’s a pencil with the exterior in the same shade as the colour of the kajal. One end is the pencil and on the other end, it has a smudger which is like a tiny stiff, dome shaped sponge. It is perfect if you want to change your mind and smoke your eyeliner out. Both sides are covered with a plastic cap, which doesn’t click but still goes back on sturdy.
The shade is actually a charcoal grey and I love how unique it is. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this shade of grey as an eyeliner before. I especially like to use this when I don’t want to use black eyeliner and still define my eyes. It really makes my eyes look brighter in a subtle manner.
I was especially impressed with the pigmentation when the SA swiped it on my hand. It is completely opaque in just one smooth swipe even when you haven’t really applied any pressure. I spent ten seconds admiring the shade and when I tried to smudge it, it didn’t smudge a lot. For some reason, it didn’t get smudged with my fingers but it got nicely smudged with the applicator on the other end of the pencil. Maybe, it’s the difference in surface texture. The formula is said to be waterproof and smudge proof and it really does hold up to its claims.
I tested how waterproof it is by taking a shower and wondering if my face wash alone would take it off, like it does for most of my eyeliners. It did not come off. It smeared a little bit, but at the end of my shower, the eyeliner was still very much there. I had to then use a makeup remover to take it all off. I looked a little like a panda, but I was thoroughly impressed with the staying power.
