Faces Ultime Pro Perfecting Primer Review

Skin Type:  Oily with pores

Hi girls,

I have two two fabulous beauty stores near my house. It is very damaging for my pocket every time I visit them 😛 But on the cool side, I find out so many lovely new products. This particular sales girl at the store is very pushy, she does her job so well that I always end up buying Faces cosmetics products more than other brands 😛 Anyway, I thought I do not have enough primers for my oily skin. I love wearing foundation, so I picked this Faces Ultime Pro Perfecting Primer up.

Product Description:

INR 899, don’t you think Ultime Pro range is getting overpriced by the hour? Now, if it reaches the INR 1000 range, I will have to think twice before buying their products.

My Experience with Faces Ultime Pro Perfecting Primer:

The tube and packaging is black, but very boring, not exciting at all. The L’Oreal Base Magique is way cuter than this one. The texture of both the primers is silicone-y, but L’Oreal is more crumbly, and it feels thicker too. The Faces one is very lightweight and fast absorbing like they claim. The tint is very less, hence obviously there will be no coverage and also would go well on all skin tones. I like how fast it settles into the skin and makes my skin matte.

The formula is very matte and light. Once I apply, it makes my skin super matte, especially on my T-zone. I would say the pores get blurred, but the pores do not get filled out like the L’Oreal Magique one. But I will give a special mention to that fact that foundation glides like silk on the skin on top of this primer. The makeup foundation on top of this primer completely diminishes the look of my pores plus the foundation looks flawless. It also mattifies my skin.

Coming to the staying power, I wore this especially for Diwali evening at 6:30 pm. This survived my pooja without any fan on. This survived my cracker session for two hours, and I could see that my foundation had not melted. There was very less shine on the t-zone.

Another day, I wore it just like that, on its own. This kept my skin looking matte for 3 hours. When I wear the foundation over it, and do not set it with powder, the shine is kept at bay for 3-4 hours. If you set your foundation with powder, when you use this primer, shine will be at bay for 5-6 hours and foundation will not melt that easily too for 4-5 hours – all this on my oily skin with pores in a non-humid climate of Pune. So overall, I am satisfied with this primer.

Pros of Faces Ultime Pro Perfecting Primer:

  • Smooth and lightweight.
  • Makes skin matte when worn alone.
  • Foundation glides very well after this on.
  • Makes foundation last more than 5 hours without melting.
  • Blurs pores when combined with foundation.
  • Very light tint, will suit all skin tones.
  • Not thick, settles very soon on the skin.

Cons of Faces Ultime Pro Perfecting Primer:

  • Doesn’t fill pores, only works to blur them with the foundation on.
  • Boring packaging.
  • Expensive.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Faces Ultime Pro Perfecting Primer?
It may not be the best primer in the market, but for my oily skin, it has performed on various occasion with various foundations. Go for this primer if you do not own one.
