Faces Ultime Pro Xpert Cover Compact Review

Faces Ultime Pro Xpert Cover Compact

Hi everyone,

Hope you all having a nice week, are it’s been a while since I last wrote a review, I have been off IMBB for a while due to certain reasons, and am happy to be back. I am here with a review on a very interesting product from Faces; it is one of their new launches. All of the products I have tried from the brand so far have worked very well for me, so I was really excited for this one as well since and had high expectations. Let’s see how well it stood up to the expectations.

Product Description:

A one-step compact and foundation that mattifies skin instantly. This oil-free compact foundation enriched with Vitamin E delivers a sheer, perfectly natural and delightfully fresh finish. Along with “jelly agents “for that extra softness, this fragrance free Compact Foundation glides on seamlessly as a cream then turns into a silky powder and gives perfect coverage with a smooth matte finish.

My Experience with Faces Ultime Pro Xpert Cover Compact:

The product comes in a matte black compact which is very travel friendly and shuts perfectly. There are three compartments inside one for the mirror, second for the product and third for the sponge provided. The last compartment has many holes, to allow ventilation of the sponge. As you can see the packaging is almost completely same as the Mac studio fix powder. The sponge applicator provided is of quite good quality and if you use it frequently it can be washed as well.

It is available only in 5 shades, I say that because even though there are 5 fives they are quite close to each other, and the darkest shade tan would be best suited for medium skin tones around NC 40 skin tone. I have the shade beige which a shade lighter than my skin tone. But I opted for this one because this was the only shade in the entire range with decent amount of yellow undertones; rest all the shades including the two darker shades were quite pink toned for me. I had expected much better from Faces!Because the shade is a tad lighter for me I go over with some bronzer to balance it out and that ways it works very well for me.

The texture is buttery soft and creamy to touch and while you apply it.When I first tried it at store I really thought it might not work for my very oily skin because of such a creamy texture, but it is oil free and the creamy texture could be due to silicons it contains. Once you blend it immediately sets to a soft matte finish almost like a powder. It is extremely easy to blend compared to liquid foundations, you get a much more quick and easy application. I love the soft matte finish it gives; it looks just like skin but prevents my skin from getting more oily and shiny without drying it. It does not emphasize dry patches or settle in pores. I think it would work best for normal to oily skin, but dry skinned beauties can also use it after moisturizing face properly or else it can cling to dry patches.

It is quite pigmented and a little goes a long way, so the quantity will last for land time. I apply some all over the face and blend it with a stipple brush, a flat top brush and the sponge provided will also work well. The name is slightly misleading and one would think it is a full coverage product, the coverage is light to medium but buildable, it evens out skin tones and covers redness well but you do need to use a concealer separately for dark circles or scars, it totally depends on the way you apply it. With the sponge it can be built up for a medium to full coverage, so if you have problematic skin then that would help. I tried building it up with a second layer and it performed well but the second layer gave more of a matte finish and stated looking obvious on skin, to prevent that moisturizing well before hand is must. It has no SPF which can be a con for some, but as a reason it photographs quite nicely with flash, even though this shade is slightly lighter for me it did not make me look ghostly white in pictures.

Because it sets on its own to a semi matte finish, setting it with a powder is not essential. It prevents my skin from getting shiny and oily for around 4 hours, after that I have to blot. When set with a powder I get more of a matte finish and skin stays that ways for longer. It does transfer slightly to blotting sheets and mobile screens, setting with a tiny amount of loose powder helps in that case. Lasting power is amazing, it stays intact for a good 7 hours on me without any setting and I did not notice any oxidization which is impressive since I have quite oily skin after that it starts to fade slightly, and I have to remove it completely with a good makeup remover. It feels extremely lightweight on skin and did not clog my pores at all; I am assuming it would work well for acne prone skin as well.

Pros of Faces Ultime Pro Xpert Cover Compact:

IMBB Rating: 4/5

Do I recommend Faces Ultime Pro Xpert Cover Compact?

As much as I love this compact foundation for it its finish and many other great things, the shade section is one and only major drawback which has to be taken into consideration as well. I would highly recommend it only if you find an appropriate shade for your skin tone! I hope Faces comes up with some other shades with yellow undertones for this one.
