Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo Review

Hello all,

I went on a week-long vacation recently and one of the things that I carried along on the trip was the Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo. Now, I have not had stellar results with dry shampoos in the past and hence I approached this product with some caution. Read on to find out if this product allayed my concerns or ended up aggravating them.

Fekkai dry shampoo

Price:
$10 for 1.7 oz or 50 gm.

Product Description:
Keep your hair lively between shampoos with this refreshing mist. It absorbs dirt and oil so hair looks and smells freshly done. It’s the perfect travel and gym bag companion.

Ingredients:

Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo

My Experience with Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo:

Packaging: This dry shampoo comes in a blue aerosol can with a plastic cap. The packaging is sleek and also travel friendly. However, I noticed that the spray nozzle gets clogged quite often and has to be cleaned with warm water.

Performance: To begin with, a little bit about my hair texture – I have an oily scalp; my hair is not overtly oily, but it tends to get oilier after 3-4 days of shampooing. I noticed that this dry shampoo did manage to absorb some of the oil from my hair. But, it really cannot give you that clean refreshing feeling that you get when you shampoo your hair. I liked that it managed to provide some volume to my unwashed hair which had otherwise become limp and flat.
But you need to use this dry shampoo with caution. It tends to leave whitish residue if sprayed too much or if its not distributed well.

I did not notice any aggravated hair fall due to using this shampoo nor did my scalp feel itchy or irritated.

Fragrance: The shampoo has a very nice refreshing smell. The smell is not overpowering at all. It lingers in the hair for 3-4 hours after applying.

To summarize, I like that the shampoo can come in handy when you cannot wash your hair and it does give an impression of clean nice-smelling hair. However, personally, I am still a fan of traditional washing/ shampooing and use this dry shampoo only in cases of real emergency!

Pros of Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo:

  • Comes in handy when you cannot wash your hair.
  • Absorbs excess oil from hair.
  • Gives the impression of more volume to hair.
  • Does not aggravate hair fall.
  • Does not irritate the scalp.
  • Has a nice clean fragrance.

Cons of Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo:

  • Leaves behind a whitish residue if too much quantity is sprayed.
  • Will not work if your hair is too dirty or greasy.
  • Spray nozzle gets clogged quite often.

IMBB Rating:
3.5/5
