Fiama Di Wills Polishing Drops Conditioner Review

Fiama Di Wills Polishing Drops Conditioner Review

My hair is the biggest concern in my life and just to tame it, I buy and experiment with many products, sometimes with happy and pleasing results, but many times with disastrous effects too. This nice and extremely alluring named product called “Polishing Drops Conditioner” was one of my experiments which miserably failed.

I have never been much satisfied with products from Fiama Wills, be it their body soaps or their anti-dandruff shampoo or this conditioner. This conditioner which claims to contain Avocado and Burdock for that “shiny, smooth finish” did nothing to improve the condition of my hair. It rather gave me rough, shine-free hair and flying hairs, which I did not have before. I just used it two or three times, after which I stopped using it right away.

My Take on the Product:

What interested me about the product when I bought it, besides the attractive name, is the presence of avocado, burdock and sunflower seeds. Now, let me explain the importance of these three things, as I searched from the net.

1. Avocado: Avocados are rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin K, fiber, folate, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, copper and potassium and therefore they strengthen and fortify the hair roots like nothing else. The copious presence of rich fatty acids in avocadoes is essential in the diet as well for people who wish for healthy hair. It makes the hair smooth and shiny.

3

2. Burdock : Burdock is a traditional medicinal herb that is used for many ailments. Burdock root oil extract, also called Bur oil, is popular in Europe as a scalp treatment applied to improve hair strength, shine and body, help reverse scalp conditions such as dandruff, and combat hair loss. Modern studies indicate that burdock root oil extract is rich in phytosterols and essential fatty acids (including rare long-chain EFAs), the nutrients required to maintain a healthy scalp and promote natural hair growth. It combines an immediate relieving effect with nutritional support of normal functions of sebaceous glands and hair follicles According to some European herbalists, combining burdock root oil with nettle root oil and massaging these two oils into the scalp every day has a greater effect than Bur oil alone.

3. Sunflower seed extract: The importance of sunflower oil and the extract of its seed is known by most of us. Its complete and comprehensive details can be found in the article “The benefits of sunflower oil in hair” http://www.livestrong.com/article/90229-benefits-sunflower-oil-hair/

However, I do not think the percentage of avocado, burdock and sunflower seed extract is much, for if they were properly used, the conditioner would have been definitely better because these three ingredients are well known for their hair fortifying qualities.

Pros of the Polishing Drops Conditioner:

• It is cheap.
• The packaging is user friendly and good for travelling purpose..
• Though not known how much of Avocado, burdock and sunflower seeds they have used, nevertheless the presence of these is a positive factor.
• The smell is mild and pleasing.
• The consistency is good, not watery but not too thick as well.

Cons of the Polishing Drops Conditioner:

• It does not make the hair smooth and shiny and silky as claimed, at least, it didn’t work for my hair.
• It gave me frizzy hair, which I didn’t have before.
• It does not work even after applying generously.
• The key ingredients fail to make any impact, whatsoever, on the quality of the hair.
• This clearly fails to do its primary work, that of conditioning the hair properly and giving it softness and shine.

My Rating:

2.5/5 (This too just for the low price ).

Will I Buy it Agin?

NEVER. Even if it is cheap, spending even Rs. 70 on it is a waste.

Cheers to healthy hair and beautiful skin,

Anveshi.

  1. hi anveshi..
nice review…this product is just sooo awefull :yuck: :yuck: . i had bought it a few years back, along with the shampoo(to have best effects,as the company claimed :waiting: ) but it turned out to be a nightmare :yikes: :yikes: … my hair started falling at an alrming rate, turned dry, rough and freezy :spank: :spank: . discarded the bottle after few washes.for the last few years am using dove conditioner for dry hair..n its pretty goos :haanji: :haanji: .. n really moisturised and tamed my pathetically frizzy and rough hair… since then i never dared to try another product :methinks: :methinks:

    1. Thanks ya.. :thanks: Even I tired Dove after that…but while dove really softens my hair and stuff, I have a lot of flying hairs whenever I use dove shampoo and conditioner. Good that it suits you sukanya!!… U know sukanya is my best friend’s name as well 🙂

  2. Nice review anveshi,

I too had bought this product and then ended up using this for washing clothes! Its an awful product! :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:
It made my hair frizzy, and coarse! One of the examples where good advertising/packaging the product alone is not enough.. Quality is a must! :scream: :scream:

    1. totally agreed gayathri… i just had to throw out this stuff… as its presence made me feel silly and stupid buying it :(( :(( :scream: :scream: :scream:

      1. Even i tried dove. Dove golden wala conditioner is very good.. and i like their yellow bottled shampoo too. 😐 😐 but, I hated fiama’s shampoo too. Imagine my plight when after this fiasco, i got two more bottles for free..!! :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:
So, I used them all to wash clothes :yahoo: :yahoo:

        1. he he…. golden wala dove??? is that the one which is for hair fall??? i dont like dove shampoos much, like the conditioner only… once i tried the “for damaged hair shampoo”… n it damaged my hair .. total misnomer for me :pan: :pan:

    2. Thanks gayathri…. U wont beleive I got this product almost a year back and I still have it almost full!! Im planning to throw it, now that I have warned people in IMBB not to make the mistake we made

  3. When Fiama di wills was launched, many of my hostel mates tried it and they were all dissapointed , except for the mild shampoo. So it never had a chance for me   .. I too use shampoos for washing clothes, its the best way to wash ur expensive clothes.. :yahoo: :yahoo:

    1. really?….I did not know that…I still have a few garniew shampoos which are unsued coz they bring disaster to my hair :)….Guess, will use them to wash my clothes.

    1. Okay,,two sukanya’s here!! Thankyou :thanks: and I am glad if I can save even one person’s money on this stupid useless product!!

  4. nice review anveshi…. somehow I was never even remotely attracted to the fiama range of shampoos & conditioners…. :-/

  5. OMG! Using shampoos for washing clothes? ROTFL 😀 thanx for such a wonderful tip 🙂 i had never heard of it before 🙂 btw, nice review anveshi 🙂 and the info you gave about the ingredients, was awesome 🙂 thanx again 🙂

    1. nissy….even i do the same thing….because shampoos remove the grease, oil dirt very effectively & the chances of the color of the garment fading is also very less…plus clothes smell also good…. 😀

  6. He he, i think i used the blue fiama shampoo when it came out. nice smell and good looks, but no effect. even my hair is the bane of my existence anveshi and ive been hot-oiling it and what not just to tame it. but if you want a hair care product that is really bad for you, try biotique’s hair fall shampoo. it helps hair dry out and fall :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:

    1. Biotique’s products are also mostly danger territory for me…I haven’t used their hair care much, but their skin products are also pretty bad.

  7. never tried fiama di wills products before. guess i’ll stick to pantene conditioner. it works for me. very good review 🙂

  8. Fiama Di Wills :spank:
I used their shampoo once when it first came out, and my hair, which normally doesn’t really dry out with basic drugstore brands, dried out and frizzed up into a knotted mess! I hated the shampoo, and I threw the bottle away. If only I knew I could wash clothes with it! 😛
