Fiama Di Wills Skinsense Face and Body Talc – Swiss Soft Review

Fiama Di Wills Skinsense Face and Body Talc – Swiss Soft

A light and fragrant talc is always welcome, especially in a tropical climate like India which experiences extreme humidity both during the summers and monsoons. Here, we review the talc from Fiama Di Wills, which is the latest foray of the company into the talc and deodorant segment. Most Fiama Di Wills products are quite popular and this talc promises to join their rank.

Name of the product: Fiama Di Wills Skinsense Face and Body Talc – Swiss Soft

Cost: Rs. 45.00 for 100g (Special Offer now – additional 25 g free)

Shelf Life: 1 year 5 months

Product Claim: “Give your skin the gentle care and protect it from damage with Fiama Di Wills Skinsense talc. Enriched with the goodness of nature and science, it gives your skin the care it so deserves.”

Review: The talc contains real floral extracts and does seem to have a light fragrance, which though not too light, is not overpowering. The pack itself is bright pink, making it instantly appealing to women.
The pack has a tab control, with which you can control the quantity of the talc dispensed from the perforations on top. There are three numbers on the control:

fiama2

0 – refers to closed.
1 – A small quantity of talc is dispersed.

fiama3

2 – A larger quantity of talc is dispersed.

fiama4

The control does work as indicated, though shaking the pack can cause clumps of talc to fall out in the 2nd mode.

The talc does not cause a white cast or sit like a layer on the top of your skin (unless you put too much), and can leave you smelling fresh for quite some time. The powder particles are soft and fine enough to apply on the face. Layering this product on top of other Fiama Di Wills products (soap/shower gels) with a similar fragrance would enhance the overall effectiveness of the product and make it last longer on your skin.

Ingredients: Talc, Floral Extract, Magnesium Carbonate, Aluminium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Allantoin, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Triclosan, Fragrance and Citric Acid.

Magnesium carbonate is a mild astringent and helps to smoothen and soften skin. Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide are usually used as sunscreen agents.

Excessive use of magnesium carbonate may cause skin and eye irritation and cardiac disturbances.

Pros of Fiama Di Wills Skinsense Face and Body Talc – Swiss Soft:

1. Has two levels to control the flow of talc.
2. Has a sweet-smelling fragrance which lasts for a while and makes you feel fresh.
3. Does appear to soften and smoothen skin.
4. Does not leave a white cast on skin.
5. The pack is completely leak proof in the closed state, which makes it good to pack if you can ensure the tab won’t move in transit.
6. Though sun protection is not explicitly specified, some of the ingredients are sunscreen agents.
7. Attractive Packaging.

Cons of Fiama Di Wills Skinsense Face and Body Talc – Swiss Soft:

1. Shaking the bottle when the control is set to level 2 may result in large amounts falling out.
2. Price seems to be reasonable, especially with the offer going on.
3. The shelf life does appear to be low compared to other brands, most of which have a shelf life of 2-3 years.

Verdict: A nice, light talc for muggy days. I would definitely buy this product again, and would also love to layer it on with other

Fiama Di Wills products. The main claim the company makes seems to be regarding the feel; the freshness of the product is supposed to transfer you to a land of spring blossoms. This claim seems to be justified, as especially during depressing rainy days, it feels good to be accompanied by a pleasant floral scent.

  1. Nice review. I generally like Fiama di Wills products and they’re really reasonably priced. I was thinking of going to get a talc now that humidity is rising. I may give this one a try if only to see how Fiama di Wills fares in talcs.
