How To Fix A Broken Blush
Hi Everyone, My mother recently told me that one of her favorite blushes fell and broke and I immediately thought of you guys. What a perfect time to fix her blush and to show you guys the step-by-step method of how I do it.
Products You Need to Fix a Broken Blush:
- Broken blush.
- Plastic container.
- Alcohol 70% or 90%.
- MyMix Press-It Binder or Glycerin.
- Plastic spoon or something similar to it.
- Paper or napkins.
What you have to do first is to take an empty container and transfer the broken pigment into the empty container. The reason why I am doing this is because I am going to break the big pieces of the broken blush. It’s important because you want an even blush later.
With a plastic spatula, I crush the bigger pieces of the blush. It took me a few minutes. You have to take your time because it’s really important to have an even pigment powder.
Now, you want to prepare your blush pan and pour a little bit of alcohol in the pan to disinfect it. I didn’t wash the blush package. which I should have, but I forgot about it.
Now, I took the alcohol and poured a little bit in the plastic container. This is a very tricky part. You have to be careful NOT to pour TOO MUCH alcohol in the pan. Pour enough alcohol so that the pigment looks like a cream. It should be somewhat like yogurt in consistency. I also added one drop of the MyMix Press-it Binder in clear that I purchased from tkbtrading.com. This basically is going to keep the blush at the end together since sometimes pigments can break very easily and can look very chalky. If you cannot get this binder, you can use glycerin instead, it functions in the same way as the binder.
With a spoon or spatula, take the entire product and put it back in the blush pan that is now sterilized. You will notice that the cream-looking product will change its shape once you put it in the pan depending on how you put the product in the pan.
You are almost done, yay!!!! I picked up the blush package carefully and dropped it from a small distance to the table. You will see that the blush started getting into a shape. Do it as many times as you need to. It took me 6-7 times to get the shape I wanted.
Since I used 90% alcohol, I don’t have to wait that long for my blush to dry. I waited for about an hour for my blush to dry, isn’t that hard, right?
I hope this post of mine helped you guys fix your broken blush.
Take care, beautiful people.
