Hair Type: Dry and Frizzy
Scalp: Extremely Dry
I have been facing dry scalp issues for quite some time now. One of my friends, who is a doctor, suggested me to try a simple coconut oil to take care of my dry scalp instead of trying out different products. I love coconut only in food items. I have never been a fan of coconut fragrance and that’s why I stay away from coconut-based products, but considering my friend’s suggestion, I got this bottle of coconut oil from Forest essentials. My Experience with Forest Essentials Cold Pressed Organic Virgin Coconut Oil:
The coconut oil comes in a sturdy transparent rectangular plastic bottle, which comes housed in a simple brown cardboard box. The clear bottle helps to see the amount of product still left. The bottle has a golden-colored screw-on type cap that fits securely and makes this bottle leak proof and fit for travel purposes. Overall, the packaging is nice, sturdy and travel friendly.
Cold pressed oils are mostly preferred for cooking purposes, but they have beauty benefits too. This one is a pure cold pressed coconut oil. The cold pressed technique helps to retain the proper balance of nutrients in the oil. So, it has that strong coconut smell, which might bother sensitive noses because not everyone is a fan of coconut fragrance. Coconut oil has many health and beauty benefits. It is an ideal moisturizer for the body. It deeply conditions hair too. It is known to soothe dry and itchy scalp. The brand suggests warming a small quantity of oil and then to apply it from scalp to the ends. I have been using this coconut oil religiously twice a week for about a month now. So, I thought it is just the right time to share my experience with the product with you all.
This is clear coconut oil. The oil has a lightweight and non-greasy texture. Its consistency is far better than regular coconut oils available in the market. It is not very sticky and does not feel heavy. It gets absorbed quickly into the skin.
I can easily skip hair conditioner if I heavily oil my hair with this one before shampooing. My hair looks so soft, smooth and manageable post washing. Though, it has not done anything to control hair fall, but it has managed to calm down the dryness of my scalp. It has reduced the dullness of my hair too. My dull, frizzy and lifeless hair looks lustrous and manageable. It tames the frizz in my hair.
Overall, I like the product, but there are other cheaper options available in the market. This oil gives me average results, does not do anything miraculous. But, it has finally helped me combat dry scalp issues.
