My Take on Forest Essentials Fragrant Dusting Powder:

I use talcum powders religiously. I use it on my face every single day and also dust all over my body after bath. I am always on the lookout for different, exotic brands for powder. From the exotic (read expensive) varieties, I have tried Yardley, Oriflame, and Marks & Spencer. One day I had to kill time waiting for my husband in a mall which has a FE store, but obviously, I went there and started browsing and saw the amazing range of dusting powders. The aromas were so different and exotic – Bitter Orange and Cinnamon, Powder Bengal Tube Rose, Madurai Jasmine and Mogra, Powder Indian Rose Absolute and Mashobra wild Honey and Vanilla. Aren’t they exotic sounding? I was torn between Bitter Orange and Cinnamon and Honey and vanilla. I LOVE the smell of vanilla and hence picked up that one.

Dusting Powder

The powder is not made of talc (hydrated magnesium silicate) but instead is made of kaolin. Kaolin is also known as Chinese clay and is widely used in cosmetics. It has good absorbent qualities and these qualities are used to draw out impurities and toxins and thereby clear the skin and act as a remineralizer of the skin.

I guess from the bottle you can make out that I am using this for a long time. I am using this for almost 7-8 months now and let me tell you it smells just as nice as it did on the first day I opened up the bottle. Generally, I find that most powders lose their perfume in a few months, if not days. But this one has not, yet! The powder has a very soothing vanilla smell. The texture of the powder is very soft. My face brightens up immediately after application. It doesn’t leave a white cast on the face. Also, it absorbs oil and control shine for a good 3-4 hours. The fragrance though doesn’t last much and starts fading out after an hour or so. That’s the only thing I dislike about it. I mean common after shelling out so much, the fragrance should have lasted at least for a couple of more hours.

Pros of Forest Essentials Fragrant Dusting Powder:

  • A very different “hatke” fragrance.
  • Absorbs oil and controls shine.
  • Doesn’t leave a white cast on the face.

Cons of Forest Essentials Fragrant Dusting Powder:

  • Pricey!
  • Fragrance lasts barely for 1 hour.
