Product Description:

This hydrosol or floral water comes from the condensation collected during the steam distillation of flowers when extracting essential oils.  The skin requires a gentle boost after cleansing to rehydrate and tone it and prepare it for your nourishing routine. Our pure and active water-based toners are made from floral, fruit and herbal extracts, captured and crystallized at the height of potency, essential to the Ayurvedic philosophy; to hydrate, tone and revive the skin. Rose has cooling, soothing and moisturizing properties. It is naturally hydrating and its seductive floral scent, promotes a feeling of well being and harmony. Marigold or Calendula has a high content of flavonoids, that act as anti-oxidants in the body. Bela helps retain moisture in the skin. Kewda is an anti-oxidant and cools the system. Saffron gives the skin a warm glow.

Making of the Product:

Fresh floral water of Rose, Marigold, Bela, Kewda and Saffron is steam distilled for its essential oil and the hydrating floral water residue is used for the facial tonic mist.

How To Use:

Spray onto face and neck whenever required to hydrate and freshen the skin.

Packaging:

The toner comes in a simple, sturdy, long plastic bottle with a plastic stopper on top and golden cap. Being transparent/see-through, you can easily make out the amount of product you are left with. The packaging is pretty decent, just that I wish it came with a spray dispenser, since they have mentioned/suggested to spray the toner directly on to the face. If you prefer to use toners by taking out some amount on the cotton swab, then this won’ t be much of an issue for you.

My Experience with Forest Essentials Panchpushp Facial Toner:

I am a major fan of Forest Essentials products. Since last year, I have been using their complete skin care system, right from their ubtans, face wash, toners to night creams and there is not even a single product that has left me disappointed. This Panchpushp toner is no exception either.

The Panchpushp toner is a light, water-based alcohol free toner and is slight yellow-golden in colour. It is more of a hydrating toner and manages to soothe my skin off any stretchiness/dryness left after washing/cleansing the face.

Ayurvedic Facial Toner 5

I find it apt for my normal winter skin when my skin is less oily and the formula is very mild and gentle on the skin. This toner is definitely not strong alcohol-based kind (which has otherwise great dirt-removing properties.) Initially, when I started using it, I would use it by taking some amount on the cotton swab and swipe my face with it, but gradually, I gave up on that and transferred the toner to another spray bottle.

The toner has lovely (heavenly), fresh, mild-natural fragrance which I absolutely love. There is something so very spectacular about the way all FE products smell. (If you have also used FE products, you would easily understand what I am trying to explain). This toner smells predominantly of rose and marigold.

Coming to its effectiveness on the skin, I would say it does hydrate the skin well and makes it softer and as an immediate effect, I do see a slight glow on my face each time I use it. On days when I am too lazy to look out for my night cream jar, I can just spray this without being worried about my skin. Apart from this, I don’t see any “major difference” in my skin like reduction of pore size or fading of blemishes due to this.

Ayurvedic Facial Toner 8

I purchased my first bottle of this toner around October last year and I am almost on the verge of finishing up the second bottle. On an average, one bottle lasted for 3 months, when used daily; twice a day. I think that pretty much justifies the high price we need to pay for it. However, I don’t see myself re-purchasing this toner at the moment as with onset of summers my skin tends to get rather oily-acne prone, so I will have to switch to Clinique Clarifying Lotion.  I will get back to this panchpushp toner, again, maybe from October when my skin is less oily.

On the whole, I would suggest this toner to ladies with sensitive, normal, dry to slight combination skin without any concerns like acne or open pores, looking for a gentle-mild toner which is low on chemicals and belongs to the natural-ayurvedic products category.

Summing up with pros and cons of the toner below:

Pros of Forest Essentials Panchpushp Facial Toner:

  • Gentle on the skin, mild formula.
  • Smells exotic.
  • Makes skin softer with continued usage.
  • Does not sting/irritate the skin.
  • Good for normal to dry skin, being a hydrating toner.
  • Alcohol free.
  • It is also free from any Parabens, Petroleum, GMO, Sulphates, Formaldehyde, PEGS, and artificial colour, synthetic fragrance.

Cons of Forest Essentials Panchpushp Facial Toner:

  • Not really great for oily-acne prone problematic skin.
  • A spray dispenser would make the packaging a lot better.
  • Slightly on the expensive side.
  • FE products are not easily available across the country.
