Forest Essentials Rupam Extra Rich Facial Cleansing Paste Review

I haven’t tried much from the Forest Essentials brand, but whatever I have tried, I have been highly impressed.  They make some amazing products and also thumbs up to their ayurveda-based beauty recipes.  When I had stepped into their store to pick this product, so many wonderful aromas hit me and I wanted to stay their for some more time.  This particular product is a cleansing paste that claims to exfoliate gently.  Here’s the detailed review for you all 🙂

My Take on Forest Essentials Rupam Extra Rich Facial Cleansing Paste:

First off, its a very luxurious looking packaging.  Though it doesn’t look like there’s much in the tub, the quantity would last for a much longer time than you think because only a little amount is required each time.  The paste does not smell specifically of anything, just a bit “ayurvedic-y,” but not strongly so.  Since the paste is in a tub, I use a spatula every time to take a little amount.

The amount that I have shown in the spoon is good enough for the entire face and neck.  The paste is richly seeped in organic oils and has a thick consistency with well-rounded granules that are not a bit abrasive.  Even those with the most sensitive skin can use it for exfoliation.  I like scrubs that are a bit harsh and not mild, but this one is neither harsh nor mild, its in perfect texture to slough off dead and dry skin.  What makes it different from other scrubs and exfoliators available in the market is that it exfoliates skin effectively using natural ingredients and does not strip the skin off of natural oils.  After the exfoliation, I can feel clear, soft skin without dry patches. The skin is not dry or stretchy and feels moisturized.

Its quite a thick paste and I use it in a circular motion to exfoliate skin, and then keep it on the face for 20 minutes like a face pack to reap benefits of the ingredients like pistachio, orange peel, almond oil, shea butter, and ketki paste, before rinsing everything off with lukewarm water because it has all those organic oils and warm water is the best to remove such rich oils, though it doesn’t leave any oily layer behind.

Since its an all-natural product with no preservatives, the expiry date is 6 months from the date of manufacture and 3 months within opening, so that means I have another month to finish it off.  So, when you are picking up the product, make your calculations.

Coming to the effectiveness, as claimed, it does gently exfoliate skin dead skin leaving the skin soft and smooth and without ripping off the moisture, in fact, it adds a bit of moisturization I feel, which lasts through the day, and its safe because there are only natural ingredients used that wouldn’t harm any skin type.  If you feel the price is a bit high for a cleanser, its not because it can be used as a face pack too and I did not see any harm when I had done so.

It has sweet almond oil, but it has never broken out my skin (hopeless skin type), so good for oily and acne-prone skin too.

Summarizing the pros and cons:

Pros of Forest Essentials Rupam Extra Rich Facial Cleansing Paste:

  • A luxurious rich cleansing paste containing natural ingredients like ketki pushp, sweet almond oil, pistachio paste, shea butter, almond seed paste, jaggery, orange peel, etc.
  • The texture of the paste is thick and contains well-rounded granules that are not abrasive and slough off dead skin cells.
  • Does not make the skin stretchy, does not rip off the natural oils from the skin.
  • Makes skin soft and smooth.
  • Would suit all skin types, even sensitive ones.
  • Does not break out oily or acne-prone skin.
  • Does not make skin stretchy or dry.

Cons of Forest Essentials Rupam Extra Rich Facial Cleansing Paste:

  • Since its a natural cleanser, the shelf life is short, I just have a month to finish the product which I bought just this month.

Would I Repurchase Forest Essentials Rupam Extra Rich Facial Cleansing Paste?

Yes, its a very good product, in fact, I now want to try more products from this brand.
