Forest Essentials Silkening Shower Wash Oudh and Green Tea Review

I come bearing news, some is bad and some good! So the bad news is that Forest Essentials is discontinuing the Sandalwood and Vetiver range and the Cinnamon and Bitter orange range. So all those of you who really liked products from this range, please stock up ASAP!!

Now for the good news! Forest Essentials have come up with two new ranges of bath and body products-one are the “Nargis” range and the other one is the “Green Tea and Oudh” range. These products are literally brand new, some three weeks old. No place better than IMBB to inaugurate the online reviews 😉

Today, I will review the forest essentials ‘Green Tea Oudh ‘shower gel. So let’s see how this shower gel and the fragrance have fared for me.

Price: INR 875 for 200ml

Product Claims: Among their purely natural ingredients are valuable Rice protein oil and regenerative Rice Bran. Rice Bran oil is antioxidant and rich in nutrients. The Oryzanol present in Rice Bran slows down melanin pigmentation and keeps skin smooth. Aloe Vera has strong soothing and moisture retaining properties and stimulates skin regeneration. Gokharu revitalizes, dull dry skin, also firms and tones. Olive Oil is a source of anti-oxidants and neutralizes free radicals that damage the skin and accelerate the aging process, it is moisturizing and skin rejuvenating. Bamboo is a cooling and astringent. Vrihi helps to soften the skin. Oudh Essential Oil retains moisture levels and is toning, purifying and soothing. Green Tea is detoxifying and refreshing .The cleansing agents are derived from Coconut and Corn and are 100% sulphate free. Coconut oil is softening, has lightening and moisturizing properties.

My Experience with Forest Essentials Shower Wash Oudh and Green Tea :

Agarwood is reputed to be the most expensive wood in the world.Its resin is known as agarwood, aloeswood, eaglewood, gaharu, agalocha or Oudh (In Arabic). Agarwood has been used to make high quality incense since centuries. The Chinese describe its smell as “a sweet, deep but balanced fragrance” and use it in religious and festive celebrations, and so do Arabian, Indian and Japanese people.

Now I just cannot describe the fragrance. I really am unable to put into any one category. It is resinous, warm, sweet, musky and balancing everything. I feel that this fragrance has really strong capability of rooting and balancing the senses and emotions. It is an extremely relaxing fragrance. At the same time, I feel that a lot of care must be taken so as not to overdo this fragrance as it combines to a cloy sweetness. This is why I would strongly advise against layering this fragrance, as it can get too much. In fact, please sniff this fragrance and see if you like it or not. It is not a very universal fragrance, just like the Madurai Jasmine range.However, it is a unisex sort of fragrance. I personally quite like it. It feels like God’s blessing to me, so if you like the fragrance of Oudh, I insist you buy this product.

The shower wash comes in the classic luxurious FE packaging. It is a bottle that can be squeezed to get the requisite amount of product. The shower wash is a transparent gel.
Despite being free of SLS lathers into soft suds. The fragrance lingers on your skin for good 4-5 hours and mellows down with time. The shower wash is quite moisturizing and the skin does not feel dry or stretchy.

I personally love this shower wash from Forest Essentials. It’s very soothing and comforting fragrance which lasts for a long time. But, I would recommend you ladies sniff the fragrance for yourself, as it is quite unique.
