Forever 21 Pink Crystal Mega Lip Plumper Review

Today, I bring you the review of another great lip plumper that I just can’t stop using. It is the Forever 21 lip plumper in the shade “Pink Crystal”. Last week I reviewed the same lip plumper in the shade Nude Crystal and this week, it is this one’s turn. Like I mentioned in my previous review of Forever 21 lip plumper also, I had been on the lookout for a lip plumper that actually stood up to its claims and actually did what it claimed to do. Surprisingly, Forever 21 lip plumper not only do a great job at plumping the lips but also keep the the lips moisturized. Read on to know more about it.

My experience with Forever 21 Mega Lip Plumper in Pink Crystal:

Packaging: Let’s just take a minute to appreciate how luxurious the packaging looks. I mean for a lip gloss that costs barely INR 260, the packaging is superlative. I absolutely love the combination and aesthetics of glass and gold together. The tube is made of glass but is not breakable and the brush handle is a reflecting gold. The text on the lip gloss has worn off but it says ‘Lip Plumper’ on one side and ‘Love & Beauty by Forever 21’ on the other. The shade name is not mentioned on the tube but it was mentioned on the tag and I to be honest, I didn’t remember the shade name so I looked it up on Forever 21’s website and I figured this one must be called Pink Crystal. It has a thin cylindrical brush applicator that feels smooth on the lips.

Shade: Pink Crystal is nothing like the name suggests. It does not contain glitter so I don’t know why it has “crystal” in its name. Secondly, it is not really a pink lip gloss. It definitely gives the illusion of a pink lip gloss and it has the slightest ever pink tint but it is not really a pink lip gloss. It is in fact a clear lip gloss that can be topped off on practically any and every shade of lipstick. There are very few lip glosses in the market that do not contain even a speck of glitter and I can proudly say that this is one of those few lip glosses.

Texture: the texture of this lip gloss appears to be gel like. It is smooth and it is very easy to apply this gloss evenly on the lips. it does not feel sticky on the lips as such but my hair does get stuck on this lip gloss sometimes, I have to be careful with that. The consistency is not runny, nor is it too thick that it takes forever to blend this on the lips. I usually wear just one coat of this lip gloss. It plumps the lips really well and it definitely stands up to its claim of keeping the lips plumped not only when the lip gloss is applied on the lips but also after it has faded off. Since I have pigmented lips and it is a clear lip gloss, I do not wear it on its own. Rather, I wear it on top of a lipstick and that way, it lasts on me for good 3.5-4 hours with a meal in between.

Pros of Forever 21 Pink Crystal Mega Lip Plumper :

• Very affordable
• Available in 4 different shades
• Stands up to its claim of keeping the lips plumped for a long time.
• Stays on for around 4 hours on me when worn over a lipstick.
• Does not contain shimmer
• It has a gel like consistency and it does not feel sticky.
• Keeps the lips moisturized
• Survives light meals to a great extent

Cons of Forever 21 Pink Crystal Mega Lip Plumper :

• Forever 21’s cosmetics are not yet available in India.
• People who are looking for a lip gloss with shimmer can skip this shade.
• It is a clear lip gloss and people who have pigmented lips (like me) cannot wear it on its own.
• I don’t know why it has ‘Crystal’ in its name when it does not contain even a speck of glitter in it.
• Has a weird smell when applied.

Will I repurchase it/ do I recommend Forever 21 Pink Crystal Mega Lip Plumper?

Yes and yes!
