Foundation and Other Cosmetics For Hot Weather: Ask IMBB

Stuti Govil asks:

Hi Rati and Team,

Great work you guys do! I am constantly tempted to buy more and more
makeup after reading IMBB (when actually I don’t use any) πŸ˜› Anyway, I have a wedding to attend in July and it will be hot and humid and disgusting. I’m clearly not a fan of summer, you see! I was planning to do my own make-up, as whenever I get it done at a salon, I end up with pretty horrific results. I wanted suggestions for long-lasting products that suit combination-oily skin. I’m fair-medium complexion, haven’t gotten myself MAC checked yet, so idea about that. But certain MAC foundations tend to be too yellow on me, so I will happily give MAC a pass. Foundation – Rati and Neha’s reviews have me convinced about Lotus Purestay Foundation. Do you think it will be good for very humid weathers? Also, can I skip concealer with this as I have relatively
problem free skin? But, could I look into Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation too? It just sounds so good!!

Blush – Lotus Purestay or Lakme Chromatic Day Blushes?

Eyeshadow – Again, good, long lasting eyeshadow suggestion please?
Maybelline Color Tattoo or MAC Paintpot?

I really need a decent primer and have no idea which one to get!

Thanks a ton guys,

Stuti.

  1. BTW stuti i have very oily skin and since summer is here. im using Lotus Purestay Foundation. its the best! πŸ™‚

    1. Stuti, I love Lotus Purestay foundation and Clinique superbalanced foundation. If you are using Lotus Purestay, it would take care of light blemishes and provide medium coverage. Bourjois healthy foundation is good too πŸ™‚

For blushes and eyeshadows, others would chip in πŸ™‚

    1. I like Bad to the Bronze, mostly because it is so subtle and I don’t need to care too much about applying skills.

  2. Thanks you guys!

I am convinced about the Lotus Purestay one now. πŸ˜€

I don’t know why I am planning to hoard up on make-up already, but I guess we all need an excuse. πŸ˜‰

  3. i think go with bourjois healthy mix foundation…its gr8 for wedding…it photographs very very well..trust me..i use it for all special occasions…its very light so perfect for summers…

  4. hi! since you’re clearly wary of the humidity in summer (and rghtly so!) I’d suggest you go for mineral based foundation- Bourjois has this mineral matte mousse foundation(soft matte finish, like skin) and they are all on the pinker side of shades and neutrals too, nothing for yellow undertones. Healthy mix is no doubt a great foundation but it’s suitable only for the driest of skins and definitely not a wise buy for summers. If you want a dewy effect, use a highlighter. Hope this helps! πŸ™‚
