Foundation with Pink Undertones : Ask IMBB

Neha S Asks :

pink based foundation

i have pale fair skin. after a lot of trials and errors i have realised i am not warm toned.. but i may be a neutral. i think my undertonesare cool/pink and overtone is warm yellowish.
for a lot of time i have been using yellow based foundations only to realise it was making my face horrendously yellow. like i have literal yellow skin! i was confused why that was happening because from what i can see my colour looks pretty much warm like most indian beauties.

but

after reading and reearching a lot , i realised that sometimes your overtones differ your undertones. but a foundation should NEVER be matched to your overtones and u should ALWAYS make sure that u match it with the undertone of your skin.

it made a whole lot sense to me because.
a) yellow based ones wernt making me look right but overtly yellow,

b) neutral beige ones worked very well.( as beige and neutral tones are like chameleon , they adapt and take shades of ur under and over tones)
e.g. iv been using bourjois foundations which work well for my oily skin, plus they are mostly beige based.. but STILL their beiges are more on the yellow side. so although iv been most satisfactory with this particular brand. it still makes me look a ‘bit’ yellow
c) i was extremely happy with pink based compact that maybelline used to make in dark blue packaging.before they started making those whitestay uv compacts.
i had another pink based foundation from a german brand (i think) from ‘makeup factory’.
the former is discontinued and the latter i cant get hold of in bombay anymore

these pink based ones didnt make my skin look neither pink nor yellow. they looked just right and brought out the inner radiance of my skin. and looked like a perfect match for my colour.

pheww i know its a long post but my question is i just cant find pink based foundations here. not that i have tried many but whenever i went on a search swatching foundations almost every company had yellow based.

can anyone suggest me a good pink based foundation if they know about any? which company makes it.? as url know how desperate i am to get one, price is not an issue.
please help.

  2. Hie neha… well the foundation i use recently is from max factor… and it had pinkish undertone… and its works great for indian tones i guess πŸ˜‰ . i got it as a gift but m so hooked to it now :woot: and also my frnds hav picked it up coz its feature light… its max factor xperience weightless foundation.. i use dark gypsum shahde 80… they have like 6 to 8 shade…do check it before buyin max factor is very easy to find … u get them at shoppers stop .. lifestyle etc….hope this helped :puchhi:

  3. neha nw range from mac has pinkish undertones. you’d find such undertones in chanel and lancome foundations too. and yeah maxfactor also has shades with pinky undertones. πŸ˜€

    1. ill check lancome and mac rati… chanel toh thoda yellow hi laga… but i cudnt judge properly as i told u before the sa was acting sooper kanjoos… to let me try :reallyangry: :reallyangry:

pata hai one i went to mac and said i want pink undertone wala the sa gave me warm shade and it was three shades darker

and that time i wasnt reading imbb . so i never knew the trick of getting out ,seeing how the foundation works for skin and pick it up later..

it looked normal to me in the mac store lighting. i picked it up..
and ghar pe aake…

i literally use it as a bronzer now :silly: :silly: :silly:

  4. na dyou have MUFE in bombay na.. check that. they toh put skintone color in bottle. πŸ˜› yesterday only i discarded my MUFE hd foundation and primer. they got expired. πŸ˜₯

          1. ohhh sachiiiii …. i dint know..

inorbt is very far for me iv gone there only once or twice in my life ..probably thats why maine kabhi dekha nahi hoga :silly: :silly: :silly: :dumb: :dumb: :dumb: :dumb:

        1. Nupurrrrrrrrrrrr…you toh don’t even tell……..I don’t want to hear from any angrezen :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali:

  5. some chambor foundations – like the silver compact shade RR1 had intense pink undertones πŸ˜› so it was absloutely unsuitable for me ,and i think even revlon has foundations with pink undertones

    1. haan revlon hi bach gaya tha swatch karne.. meko bhi thoda shak hai k revlon might have foundations on pink side :dumb: :dumb: :dumb: … me will pakka se check it out now…
u thnk it will suit oily skin though?

  6. i have the other alternate ques regarding foundations πŸ˜› does shisheido foundations have yellow undertones? the irony is lakme has the shade which suits me to the t,but the less i talk about lakme foundations the better – as you all know the reasons πŸ˜› gets greasy, or fades .or breaks me out. so anyone who knows about a good yellow based foundation for oily skin do let me know…

    1. yellow based and oily skin then u can go for bourjois bi detox
if price is not an issue then clarins makes nice yellow based ones.
lancome ka some foundations are also yellow based.

      1. even body hopemakes yellow based… but i dont like them for my oily skin..even if they claim oil free.. so i advise u to sample it 1st :)) :))

  7. i will allright πŸ˜› clarins owns herbal essences too dont they πŸ˜› most people in our swimming team are gaga about those shampoos – tousle me pretty and all πŸ˜€

  8. how about the revlon colorstay? i mean i needed full coverage and somethng that would stick to my face without getting oxidised ..and it seems to have a separate range for combo-oily skin and has a decent range of shades to choose from ?:)

  9. Nehaaa :teddy:  I suffer from d same problem..first I thot It was me nt blending d foundation well thn I realised tat I have pinkish undertones :stars: And i am ever so grateful to u for posting this query Neha πŸ™‚ And i ill try out d suggestions given by others :woot:
