My hair has been a very bad boy in the humid weather. So, I have been trying a lot of products just to keep them nice and calm. This is one of those products from my hair care stash.

My Experience with Frederic Fekkai Technician Color Care – Color Protecting Glaze:

It comes in this transparent-looking plastic bottle, which is sturdy. It is convenient enough as you can see how much of the product is left inside. The top nozzle is really interesting here. You have to rotate the outer nozzle to open the hole at the summit. Then, you squeeze the bottle to get the desired amount of product on your palm.

The consistency of this product is like a dry oil. If you have used Nuxe dry oil, the consistency is exactly like that, but it does not make your hair oily at all. It feels like after a while, everything is slowly absorbed into the hair. I can’t really comment on the smell because it is very mild and smells a bit floral and then, it quickly fades away in 5-10 minutes.

As instructed, I like to put 2-3 drops or maybe a little bit more to be honest as I have very long hair. I spread it on my palms and work my way into my hair, concentrating on the ends. Then whatever is left on my hands, I sweep it over the hair on top of my head.

I notice that this effectively tames down the fly aways and baby hairs. It does make my hair appear smoother too. It kind of makes sliding your fingers through your hair experience easier.  I do not use hot tools on my hair much and moreover I desperately need a good hair straightener right now as I dropped my TIGI one and it’s very difficult to use it now as it is kind of broken, but it was kind of old, so I don’t exactly regret. But oh God, Angels, give me a flat iron!!

Anyway, coming back to the topic, after a while, I tried using this product while I was straightening my hair, and this worked amazing! It made them look smoother and healthy. Now, I am not sure about the claims of imparting shine to my hair. I feel it didn’t do a remarkable job at providing shine.

Still, I have been liking this product because it does claim to provide UV protection which is an absolute must for dry hair type like mine. I do have certain highlights and I can’t say that this does anything to enhance the colour. As far as fading is concerned, I feel it depends on your shampoo and frequency of washing your hair, which decides how long the colour would stay, but as this product provided protection from sun rays, I am hoping that my highlights would last longer.  So overall, in a nutshell, this is a great product to tame down frizz in your hair and works even more effectively when used with a hot tool. It is kind of on the pricier side and I am not very positive that I will repurchase this as I think there are better products in the market at a lesser price which do a similar job. The claims of giving polished shine didn’t really work for me.

• Did not provide an amazing shine as claimed.
• Pricey for the job it does.
• May not be easily available.
