Freeman Clay Mask with Avocado and Oatmeal Review

I have already reviewed the Freeman Facial Enzyme Papaya Mask on IMBB.  I finished using the papaya mask and it is not sold in Australia any more, so I bought this clay mask with avocado and oatmeal since it is suitable for oily/combination skin and because I read good reviews about this product on the net and youtube.  The whole Freeman range is not available in Australia, but I would really like to try their foot products. I am quite attracted to the Freeman because it is so bright and cute.  This particular one, with a juicy avocado really impressed me (I know silly me, packaging is not a factor to select a mask, but it just got some brownie points).

My Experience with Freeman Clay Mask with Avocado and Oatmeal:

Because this mask is clay based, I really wanted to try this since it will help control oiliness on my oily/combination skin. Kaolin and bentonite clay are excellent in removing excess sebum and drawing out impurities from the skin. The mask is of a light green colour and is clay based, so it feels like it and is of a smooth consistency. The scent of the mask is quite strong; however, it is difficult to describe the fragrance and doesn’t smell like any of the ingredients. However, I don’t have any complaints about the fragrance, I feel quite okay about it.

Clay Mask

After cleansing my skin, I started applying the mask little by little in layers. It is easy to overdo and apply a lot, but that will be wasting the product. The mask dries quickly; it takes less than 5 minutes to dry. I also appreciate that this product comes in a squeeze-out tube. I am having trouble storing face masks that come in sachets, so I really like this tube packaging. After the mask dries, gently wash off and pat dry. You will know if the mask has dried, because it becomes powdery. The first thing I noticed was the pores, the ones on my nose had definitely shrank and more than half of the blackheads on my nose were gone. My face appeared clear, cleaner and mattified.

clay face pack

My face remained oil free for about a couple of hours. What I really like about this mask is that it cleans pores, shrinks them, and helps in reducing blackheads.  I plan to use this instead of my Biore Pore Strips.  However, this does not make my skin oil free/mattified for a long time.  Additionally, my skin also did not feel soft, it felt a little bit rough and dry; however, after application of a moisturiser, my skin was okay.

Things I Love about Freeman Clay Mask with Avocado and Oatmeal:

  • Cleans pores and reduces pore size.
  • Clears blackheads and cleans clogged skin.
  • Contains avocado and oatmeal which are beneficial for the skin.
  • Comes in a sturdy packaging in an easy-to-use squeeze-out tube.
  • The mask dries quite quickly compared to other clay masks and is not messy.

What I Do Not Like about Freeman Clay Mask with Avocado and Oatmeal:

  • Contains parabens such as methylparaben and propylparaben.
  • Expensive in Australia compared to other countries.

IMBB Rating:

4.25/5.  I really like this mask. I would compare this to the anti-stress Dead Sea Mud Pack from Montagne Jeunesse, and I like both of them.  I would definitely recommend this mask for oily/combination skin.

    1. Yes Parita,

Do try them, I feel they are better than Purederm and at the same level as MJ.However, I think each product varies.Jomol has a review on the Goji berry mask.Freeman has a collection of bath body and feet products as well. However, I have only tried the 2-in-1 blackberry scrub and didnt like it much.Tempted to try more though

  1. Yes Jyo,

This one and the MJ one are the best clay masks I have tried so far .Do try one of them.
This one is better, when you work out the cost per use and storage

  3. Hi, I’m currently using this product and I’d like to ask, how does it clear blackheads? For e.g u can extract black heads using pore strips, but you can’t use a mask to do so.
