I’m back after a small break. The weather is getting colder here in Australia and I’m unable to use face masks as often as I want to. However, I still have my DIY pampering, but less frequently. I tried this cucumber peel-off mask recently by Freeman. I have used the cucumber peel off mask by Montagne Jeunesse and since I couldn’t find it in the store, I wanted to try the Freeman cucumber mask.
This ever so fun mask gently peels away impurities while Cucumber extract leaves skin silky smooth. Perfect for normal to combination skin.

My Experience with Freeman Cucumber Peel-Off Mask:
I have had quite a good experience with Freeman facial products so far, having tried three of their face masks before, namely Pineapple enzyme, Avocado and Oatmeal and Chocolate Strawberry mask. However, I did not like the only body care product I bought from this brand, the exfoliating body wash. So, I decided to try more facial products from Freeman and stay away from their body products for now.:)
Coming back to the product, let me start with the packaging. The tube is of a refreshing green colour and pictures juicy sliced cucumbers, which is super cute. I do like cucumber fragrance; it reminds me of fresh salads. However, I was quite disappointed with the MJ Cucumber Peel-Off mask with regards to fragrance as it had a chemical smell and not a cucumber smell. This Freeman Face Mask; however, does smell of cucumbers and I totally love it. The product is colourless and spreads easily when applied. However, the consistently is quite gooey. Since it starts to dry quickly, better to wash hands soon after application, otherwise your palms will have flaky pieces of the mask.
After application, my facial skin felt cool, just like having real cucumber slices on my face. Make sure the eyebrows and hairline is avoided, otherwise you wouldn’t be very happy while peeling off the mask. The mask dried off perfectly well after 20 minutes. If you apply the mask consistently, the same amount all over your face and neck, it dries smoothly all over the skin and will make peeling it off more easier and fun. After drying, I gently peeled off from my chin side and up in an upward motion. (Just like any skin care guru will tell you, always wash, massage, and peel in an upward motion if you don’t want to speed sagging of skin).
After peeling and splashing my face with water, my skin felt smooth and hydrated. This mask did not get rid of blackheads or reduce pore size, but it cleaned my skin and hydrated it at the same time. The peel off action was so smooth, I felt literally like peeling a layer off my skin. This mask did not break me out but it did not do any miracles either. Compared to other masks from the same brand, I feel the difference this mask makes is a little bit less.
Pros of Freeman Cucumber Peel-Off Mask:
- The packaging is cute and the product smells quite fresh.
- This mask dries quickly and is easy to peel off.
- Contains cucumber extract and chamomile to calm and soothe skin.
- Leaves skin clean, smooth and hydrated.
Cons of Freeman Cucumber Peel-Off Mask:
- Quite pricey in Australia, but it is cheaper in USA/India.
- Does not deliver any drastic results.
IMBB Rating: 4/5
If you have combination skin and would like to try a peel-off mask, give this one a try. However, this is not a “wow” product, it is more of a basic peel off mask, so give it a try if you are interested in peeling off face masks.
Will I Repurchase Freeman Cucumber Peel-Off Mask?
Not for now, I want to try different masks and I don’t feel peel off masks should be used too often.
Other User Reviews
Freeman cucumber mask is really helpful during those hot and humid days when the skin has just lost the glow and pampering. It has a heavenly cucumber fragrance which is very refreshing when applied on the face. The texture is pretty thick so there was a little difficulty while applying this because a lot of product was needed and while application it might drip, so had to be careful. The moment I apply and keep it, I feel a cooling sensation on my skin which is amazing and relaxing. The peeling off was a little tedious though because it does get applied very evenly. It made my skin silky and smooth and provided it the needed hydration. It made my skin look fresh but the results were just temporary; they did not last even more than an hour. Hence this might just be a pampering treat for the tired skin to relax and breathe free, but it did not do anything special to my skin.- Saloni Shah
