Fresh Plum Face Mask: Do It Yourself

Fresh Plum Face Mask: Do It Yourself

All of us yearn for beautiful, soft and supple skin that is free of acne marks or blemishes. To take care of such problems, there are plenty of products available in the market, but the extensive list of chemical ingredients in these products makes me jittery. I would never want to apply harsh chemicals on my already sensitive skin. So, here comes a solution straight from the kitchen. Fresh fruit face masks are an excellent way of keeping the complexion bright and to reveal clear glowing skin. I like to create my own face masks using ingredients that are readily available and are seasonal. These natural products are gentle for my sensitive skin.

Let’s see what we need to get started:

1. A few fresh plums.
2. Yogurt.
3. Oats or corn flour (as per your choice).

Take 4-5 plums, wash them under running water. Poach them in boiling water for 3-5 minutes.

You will see the peel coming off on its own, and then you need to mash them with your clean fingers and remove the seeds.

Now, is the time to add some yogurt to the plum puree.

Then, add grounded oats or corn flour to make the puree thick, so that it doesn’t drip while applying. Apply to your face with clean fingers.

Massage gently in circular motion. Relax for good 15-20 minutes. Wash it away with water and pat your face dry and follow it up with your favorite moisturizer. You can just apply some rose water or toner also.

Plums are extremely good for blemish prone-sensitive skin. Plums contain Vitamin C and Vitamin A, which strengthen the elasticity of skin and its general appearance. Yogurt is an excellent skin hydrator, packed with lactic acid which helps in removing the dead skin and increases the cellular turnover, thereby giving you glowing and wrinkle-free skin. Plum mask is especially good for people with dull, damaged, acne prone skin.

PS: I prepare this mask and refrigerate it, but consume it within 3-4 days. Sometimes, I fill an ice try with this mixture and freeze it for future use. Regular use of this mask has helped me remove acne marks and my skin feels hydrated and nourished. Do try this mask and let me know if it was helpful.
