My Experience with Fresh Sugar Coral Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15:
This the 3rd lip treatment product I’m trying from Fresh. Read my review on the Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment and Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15. The former was a very sheer rose tinted and the later was clear. So I wanted to give the Coral a try as it was one of their most pigmented lip treatments.
This also comes in the standard screw cap. Though it is a secure packaging, I cannot just use one hand to open and use it on the go. For example while I’m driving. This is just my thought and doesn’t bother me much. It has a mild fruity fragrance to it. I’m sure it is mild enough for the sensitive nose as well.
The shade is summery and pretty coral. It has very good pigmentation that one swipe would reveal enough color on lips. And it is definitely not “in your face” kind of shade. I wear it to office almost everyday.
Now lets talk about the not-so-good-thing about this product. Unlike the other 2 Fresh lip treatments that I have tried, this one has very soft texture. Just one swipe leaves lots of product on the lips. And it goes uneven. If I press my lips together after applying, the excess product moves to the border of the lips, and that is not a good sight. I had to look in the mirror and run my finger over lips to make it look even.
The last thing I would like to do with my lip balm is to depend on mirror to apply it. But with this one, I need to look into the mirror to make sure it looks fine. I don’t quite like this thing about this product.
It doesn’t look appealing immediately after applying. But after a minute, it kind of gets absorbed in the lips and makes it looks shiny and healthy. It also diminishes the appearance of fine lip lines. If I had to rate all 3 Fresh sugar lip treatments that I have tried, I would give Rose number one, non-tinted number 2 and this one number 3 , just for its too soft texture and uneven application.
Let me break down its pros and cons from my point of view .
Pros of Fresh Sugar Coral Lip Treatment
1. Beautiful summery coral shade
2. Very good pigmentation for a lip balm
3. Keeps lips moist and healthy
4. Could be a replacement to lipstick
5. Has SPF 15 in it
6. Conditions lips on regular use
Cons of Fresh Sugar Coral Lip Treatment
1. Too soft, thus making it difficult to apply without looking at a mirror.
2. Can break/melt in hot weather.
This is a lip balm that almost performs like a lipstick. If you do not mind touching up a little bit after applying, then do give this a try.
Final Word on Fresh Sugar Coral Lip Treatment
I enjoy using the Fresh sugar lip treatments. Same goes with this, except for that little discomfort it causes. They keep adding a new shade every now and then to this collection. And I might try a few more. I would totally recommend this to anyone who haven’t tried these yet.
