Fresh Sugar Lip Polish Review
Hello everyone,

My Experience with Fresh Sugar Lip Polish:
I have very dry lips which tends to crack up any time of the year if I do not moisturize and exfoliate them regularly. I keep lip balms at home, office, purse and car. So, I have one lip balm handy all the time. To worsen the problem, I have a very bad habit of biting my lips when I am doing anything with full concentration, which makes it even worse.
I have been using the Body Shop Lip Scuff, but the problem with the scuff is that it’s on the milder side and does not remove stubborn dry skin. Then, I started using ELF Lip Scrub. It was doing a good job for the initial few uses; after which it started getting harder and was very rough on the skin.
I was planning to try the Bliss Fabulips sugar scrub after reading Rati’s review, but thought would give this one a try as I had good luck with all Fresh products that I have tried so far.
Fresh Sugar Lip Polish comes in a small plastic jar packaging. I know it is not the most hygienic option, but most lip scrubs in the market have this kind of packaging. It smells like brown sugar and has a sweet taste.
It has fine granules of brown sugar mixed with oil, shea butter, etc. The consistency is not too wet or dry, just the right texture to hang on to the lips until the last bit of granule has melted. It does not become spill or become messy while using. This packaging makes it easy to use anywhere, at home and even on the go.
This lip scrub is not too harsh and neither too soft. The first time that I used it, I had obvious dry patches on my lips. It didn’t remove all of them at once. The scrub managed to remove the obvious big dry patches but not the smaller ones. I used it once in 2-3 days and it took 3 usages to completely remove all dry patches from my lips. Also, this scrub gives optimal result if I use after brushing or after shower. Did I mention that a little goes a long way. So, I am sure this small jar would last me for at least a couple of months before I need to think of a new scrub (yes, I want to try Bliss Fabulips after this and see which one is better).
Now, using a lip scrub doesn’t mean that I can skip my lip balm. I actually have to use lip balm more regularly in order to avoid further drying of lips, just like how we moisturize our face after using a scrub. If I don’t moisturize my lips regularly, it becomes dry again.
If you ask me what is great about this than a homemade DIY sugar scrub, I would say it’s just the sheer comfort of using this scrub anywhere and the non-messy factor. I can toss it into my handbag. I haven’t used Lush sugar scrubs, but have heard that they get messy.
Pros of Fresh Sugar Lip Polish:
- Removes dry and flaky skin from the lips, leaving them smooth and soft (in a couple of uses).
- Non-messy, easy to use.
- Travel friendly.
- A little goes a long way.
- Gentle on lips.
- Not too dry or wet, has the right consistency.
- No product wastage.
- Improves texture of the lips with regular use.
- Prolonged use reduces pigmentation to an extent.
Cons of Fresh Sugar Lip Polish:
- Expensive compared to DIY sugar scrub.
- The jar packaging isn’t the most hygienic way to use this type of product.
- The jar is filled only up to 2/3rd with the product.
Last Word on Fresh Sugar Lip Polish:
I know we can make sugar scrub at home at no cost, but it’s always a pleasure to indulge in products like this once in a while. I wouldn’t call this “an out of the world” product or a must have. Hope this review helps if you were eyeing this product.

nice review…..i just wish there is a product which also treats pigmentation of lips alongwith taking care of it!
I wish so too. I want to get rid of the pigmentation on lips so badly. Wish there’s some magical solution to it.
wanna get rid off lip pigmentation.. *spank* *cry* have startd using a DIY lip balm for pigmented lips which i read it here.. m using it religiously.. hope it works for me too *scared*
I don’t think pigmentation can be completely removed by lip scrub. The darkness due to dry skin can be handled by lip scrub 🙂
lovely review *drool* I need this in my life or something similar *haan ji*
*thankyou* parmita
Nice review. I love love the packaging. I mean keeping the hygeine factor apart, looks wise it scores.
It does look classy tanvi 🙂
