Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Skin Care Cream Review

Fruit of the Earth (based in Texas) manufactures several lines of personal care products that use aloe vera (which is rich in vitamins A, C, E and B). One such product is its vitamin E skin care cream. I had just moved to Mysore last winter and my skin started becoming very dry. Reading its great claims, I picked this up.

My Experience with Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Skin Care Cream:

I have developed a habit of applying hand and foot creams in the car while travelling to work. The cream is quite thick (but not as thick as body butters) so that is a plus for people who need extreme hydration. It is very greasy as soon as you apply this onto your skin. But eventually it absorbs well and doesn’t give any sticky feeling later on. It spreads easily on the skin.

My hands look very moisturized and softened, not only as soon as it is absorbed, but throughout the day. I don’t need to reapply this at all until I wash my hands, but I don’t know for a fact if my hands are actually hydrated or they just look so because of the sheen.

I am not a big fan of the smell. It’s not very strong, but it is that typical synthetic drugstore cream smell that I am not a fan of. The smell doesn’t stay that long after you apply this, but every morning when you get a strong whiff of this as you open the tub and as you apply, it is not a very pleasant experience.

The ingredients list doesn’t make me very happy either. Although it contains vitamin E, aloe vera, wheat germ oil, sunflower seed oil, sesame oil and coconut oil, it is also high on mineral oil, parabens and artificial fragrance.

It comes in a sturdy white plastic tub which is rather sleek for a tub because usual tubs are fatter.

Pros of Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Skin Care Cream:

• Thick enough for extremely dry skin.
• Moisturizes and softens skin very well.
• Absorbs quite fast into the skin.
• Skin feels nourished even after hours.
• Non sticky.

Cons of Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Skin Care Cream:

• Not a fan of the smell.
• High on mineral oil and parabens.

Would I Repurchase Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Skin Care Cream?

Though initially I was a big fan of this, now I prefer TBS or VS body butters because I am more comfortable with the scents and ingredients. So no!

Do I Recommend Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Skin Care Cream?

No, this is just another average drugstore cold cream.
