My experience with New Garnier Fructis Strengthening Shampoo Goodbye Damage:
The shampoo comes in an orange colored bottle with a flip open cap. The packaging is quite sturdy and travel friendly. However you will not be able to judge how much product is left as the bottle is not transparent. The shampoo is pearly white in color and the texture is on the runny side. It lathers up very well and has a mild fragrance which is pretty ok. I always follow up with a conditioner as my hair is pretty dry. This shampoo made my hair drier and what more it also ripped it of its existing moisture. My hair was frizzy throughout the day and I cursed myself for picking this nuisance. To add to my horror my hair was so rough by the end of the day that I didn’t feel like touching my locks.(Sob, Sob) Overall my normal shiny hair was tortured and it was brutally killed with just one wash. No points to guess I binned this one. I have never liked Garnier Fructis range but I thought I’d give them a second chance but in vain. Warn one and all and don’t you pick this horrible product.
Pros of New Garnier Fructis Strengthening Shampoo Goodbye Damage:
• Mild fragrance
• Easily available.
• Travel friendly packaging.
Cons of New Garnier Fructis Strengthening Shampoo Goodbye Damage:
The list is endless:
• Does not live up to its claims.
• Made my hair frizzy, rough and lifeless.
• Robbed my hair of its existing moisture and left it drier than usual.
• You don’t get to know how much product is left.
IMBB Rating:
1/5(for the packaging and fragrance)
I would never recommend New Garnier Fructis Strengthening Shampoo Goodbye Damage to anybody. Needless to say, I hate it. I will go back to Tresseme which I love. It’s not goodbye damage, it’s welcome damage!!

Some how frutis never work for me…. at times I see good review for them and wonder how it works for others and not for me… but this product looks nothing close to good.
Thanks for review Esha 🙂
Sweta, I’m banging my head.. hated it.
Nice review esha..i never used garnier and would never dare to try them after this review:)
He he he.. Soundarya, i already binned it.. 😀
ohh my gosh… are you serious.. 🙁
i bought it yesterday and bought it because of their claims and attractive orange packing… shit what do i do now 🙁 🙁
Well since you’ve bought it, you might as well give it a shot, the shampoo is in my opinion is pretty good but the oil really takes the cake for me, it’s way better than that parachute crap we’ve all been accustomed to.
Umm, well it isnt that bad.. I’ve washed my hair twice without applying any conditioner and it doesnt make my hair dry or frizzy. Works well 🙂
I really wonder if garnier people ever use their own shampoos.half of them turn out to be duds. So much for pretty packaging and fancy name.:| thanks for the heads up esha. 🙂
Rati, my sentiments exactly.. such a dud.
Rati, this one is really a dud.
It has way too many chemicals 🙁
You’re right Ila.
ohh my gosh…i just bought this yesterday.. 🙁
because of their claims and bright orange packaging… shit now what do i do 🙁 🙁

I know Shilpa, even I was using Tresseme before this and it worked for me too..

Rescuing Eshaaaaaaaaaaaa 😛
The packaging is really attractive, especially the bright color, sad it didn’t work 🙁
Hai na Jomol..even I fell for the orange dabba.. 😛

Shilpi, I’ve used patanjali shampoo..it is quite nice. thanks.
Garnier products are such duds…it never worked for me…
Anushree, I really regret this purchase. 🙁
For me garnier is a big no (in bold letters) how abt tresemme??
Anita, Tresseme is very good. 🙂

Yeah Natasha, I’m going to switch back to tresseme.. 🙂 lesson learnt!

Thank God.. i skipped the shampoo…phew…
although I tried the conditioner and its really very good…. I wish i could review it here 🙁
Really is the conditioner good? I just picked up the oil, first time I saw a Garnier Oil, LOVED IT… If the conditioner’s good too, I’ll probably give the whole range a shot!
Mishti, I use Hair Fall Control by Tresseme.. It has been reviewed here on IMBB..you may check it out.
Hi Mitshi, if you really liked the conditioner you tried, please share your experience, as far as the shampoos are concerned, everyone’s hair as a different need, i tried this Garnier Fructis Strengthening Shampoo Goodbye Damage shampoo and found that my hair was manageable.
Thank you for your review. Tresseme sounds like a much better option.
hi i bought this new garnier goodbye damage shampoo. in my entiere 20 years of life i hav not used such a horrible shampoo. it is an open invitation to damge your hair and make you bald. within a week my hair has fallen so much that i had to switch back to dove so that the remaining dont fall off. this is the first time i hav had such a terrifying experience with garnier. god knows what is wrong with them
I’m going to state the obvious here by saying EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT.
I’m in love with this product! And have recommended to friends who have also loved it! I have bleach damaged hair and it has really helped my hair to be softer, silkier and more manageable. I suggest giving it a try, it may just do for you as it does for me! Plus it’s certainly a cheap option so if it fails, then you’ve lost out on $12 max!
Ps I went from Redken (which I love but is pricey) to this and am getting the same if not better results.
hi i totally agree with Esha its not damage repair shampoo but damage start shampoo. I myself used it two times leading my hair to frizziness and dryness. I suggest u all not to use it
