Off late, I have been in love with shampoos that contain oil. Even though I have oily scalp and it is seriously an odd decision, I like the benefits I have been getting out of it. My hair is oily but the ends are dry, so most of the time making a decision to buy the right shampoo is a hectic procedure for me; I stay in the shampoo bay for hours reading to know what it does. Garnier has introduced a new hair and skin care range by the name of Loving Blends and this is my second review of an oil-based shampoo.
Price: €2.59 for 300 ml
What the Company Claims:
Nourishes intensively from root to tip; for sensitive or very dry hair.
The rich texture of this shampoo creates wonderful thick foam that is easy to wash. Your hair gets an intense soft feel and is easier to style with the end result being a radiant natural beauty.
For the new recipe against sensitive or very dry hair, has Garnier Loving Blends has chosen a very special ingredient: olive oil. This powerful natural ingredient, rich in fatty acids and antioxidant vitamin E has been used since ancient times and is known for its intense nourishing and soothing effect.
My Take on Garnier Loving Blends Mythical Olive Intense Nourishing Shampoo:
It was the last thing I purchased in 2015; there was quite a discount and I didn’t want to miss it. Blame me, for buying and stocking things! At times I am a sucker for discounts! Anyway, the first thing that grabbed my attention was olive oil. I have been using olive oil in my hair regime and it has made my hair better so I liked when I saw that the shampoo contained olive oil. The second main thing was that it is paraben free! I picked up only the shampoo for as I already had a different conditioner.
The packaging is good. It is a green transparent bottle with a gold cap with the leaf carved on it. The cap is sturdy and the packaging is travel friendly. The product is transparent and has a consistency of a gel. The fragrance is not very strong but fresh and pleasant.
During my first wash with the shampoo, I could see immediate difference. Even though I felt that there were tangles initially, when my hair dried, I could just detangle my hair with my fingers and my hair was much softer and with minimum frizz. The shampoo lathers quite well and leaves no residue. It also gives shine to the hair and to my disbelief, my hair was not oily for 2 straight days after shampooing. My roots turn oily the very next day and I liked the shampoo a lot for that. But this gave mixed results for my husband who has normal scalp; it made his scalp itchy and he had the scalp skin flaking out like dandruff. So I believe that this shampoo might not be suitable for dry scalp even though it has oil in it.
It left my hair with the natural waves I have and didn’t make it poker straight after combing.
Pros of Garnier Loving Blends Mythical Olive Intense Nourishing Shampoo:
• Travel friendly packaging.
• It has a blend of several oils giving extra nourishment to the hair.
• Makes hair look fuller, shinier.
• Makes hair frizz free and tangle free.
• Lathers well and my scalp doesn’t get oily very soon.
• Leaves the hair with the natural texture.
Cons of Garnier Loving Blends Mythical Olive Intense Nourishing Shampoo:
• Might not be a good choice for dry scalp.
IMBB Rating: 4.5/5
Will I Repurchase Garnier Loving Blends Mythical Olive Intense Nourishing Shampoo?
A single shampoo bottle lasts me 3-4 months and I am never faithful to shampoos as I get bored very soon, so maybe not!
