It is summer time in Netherlands and we hardly had 2 weeks of bright sunshine, so we are on a vacation to Spain and Portugal. Thanks to Rati for already exploring the areas, it was easier to make the itinerary. So, I picked up a few products for the sunny side of Europe and today’s review is on Garnier Micellar Extra-Gentle Cleansing Wipes.
Price: €3.99 for 25 wipes
Claims: Garnier Micellar Extra-Gentle Cleansing Wipes contain thin silk fibers in a thick, soft wipe. Soaked with Micellar water, they are specially formulated for make-up removal on sensitive skin. Like a magnet, the cleansing agents capture impurities and lift away dirt from the skin. No need to rub to efficiently remove make-up. The result: In a single step, your make-up is removed and your skin feels refreshed and soothed.
How to Use: Lift the adhesive panel. Remove a wipe and gently cleanse your face, including your eyelids and neck, in the morning and evening. No need to rinse. Re-seal the adhesive panel straight away to help prevent the wipes from drying out.
My Experience with Garnier Micellar Extra-Gentle Cleansing Wipes:
I had purchased the Nivea ones and they dried out very fast. I badly wanted to purchase some new wipes and this came to my notice. I have tried micellar water and, when I found facial wipes with micellar water, I had to grab them. The wipes come in a light pink pack and has a flap open on the top. The opening is in the centre and is small, thus this prevents the wipes from drying. The wipes are soft and moist. However, I have noticed that the ends of these wipes are wetter than the centre.
The wipes remove the dirt and grime from the face effectively. But, when it comes to heavy makeup, you would need at least 2 wipes to get everything removed or follow up with a wash. The wipes also effectively remove waterproof mascara and lipstick stains. The wipes are soft and easy to use. Even though the wipes are meant for sensitive skin, I wouldn’t recommend the usage of it on the eyes or around them. I removed my eyeliner and glue with this wipe and it gave me a burning sensation which lasted for 10-15 seconds. I got the same sensation when I was trying to remove the excess kajal from the sides of my eyes.
Even though the wipes remove the makeup, when I washed my face with water, I could see that there was dirt still in there and the water that dropped was black/brown, indicating that there was still residue left. So only the wipes may not effectively remove makeup. However, for daily use and to remove minimal makeup, the wipes are still great. I never had issues with it except the eye part. Also, do not use it if you have an open pimple or injuries as it could irritate the area. I just need this to wipe my face before applying sunscreen at the beach, so I do not want it for removing heavy makeup. Hence I am fine with it.
