Garnier Moisture+ Matte Daily Oil-Free Moisturiser Review

Whenever I pop into a beauty store, I am always on a hunt for good moisturising creams. Currently, I am using Nivea Daily Essentials Oil Free Moisturising Day Cream and in the past, I have used Garnier, The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion and L’Oreal Triple Active Day Moisturiser, however, I am always game to try out new creams hoping to turn better for my skin. As I have oily skin, my big concern is that annoying thin oily layer which creeps onto my face after a few hours. So, last time when I was in Boots, I glanced through different aisles and I found this cream with a good mention of Moisture + Matte (now that’s what I look for) formulated for combination to oily skin. Since, the cream is from a trusted skin care brand – Garnier, I didn’t think much to purchase it. And here is the review:

Garnier Moisture+ Matte Daily Oil-Free Moisturiser

Garnier Skin Naturals has introduced 5 tailor made daily moisturisers helping to improve the appearance of skin texture suiting every skin type – normal, dry, very dry, uneven, dull and tired and combination to oily skin. They are empowered with natural derived ingredients claiming to provide quick and 24 hours hydration. The new creation ‘Moisture+’ formula is designed to take care of specific skin needs. For combination to oily skin, Garnier presents Shine Be Gone Moisture + Matte Daily Oil free moisturiser enriched with Green Tea extract, which mattifies and unifies the look of the skin tone for a fresh finish.

My Experience with Garnier Moisture+ Matte Daily Oil-Free Moisturiser:

The product comes in a 50 ml tube wrapped in a light green soft cardboard box. The box contains all the information about the cream making the consumers easy to know the product details before a purchase. I need to make a special note about the consistency as it is quite different compared to all the other moisturisers I have used in the past. It has a very uniquely light consistency like a soft whipped cream. It has a cooling sorbet texture with super-absorbent micro-spheres to deliver a mattifying effect.

Just a tiny amount is sufficient for an even application all over the face. It’s a really soft and not sticky and thankfully it does reduce the shine throughout the day. When you pop out a tiny portion of the cream and start applying, you would feel that this will not suit your skin as it seems to be little fragmented on the face. It does claim to have a sorbet touch but it feels as if a wet tissue is being disjointed around the face. But somehow, the feeling evaporates quickly as you start your makeup over it. It has no parabens, it is dermatologically tested and yes suitable for sensitive skin too.

It is reasonably priced and more than a moisturiser I feel it works wonderfully as a primer. It gives a supple feeling; attempts to control shine finely to create a good base before makeup. Additionally, it doesn’t feel heavy on skin as it doesn’t create any breakouts. As the main ingredient is Green Tea extract, it is naturally rich in antioxidants that protect the skin from the damaging effect of free radicals.

However, it doesn’t come with SPF. It is not an exceptionally excellent cream in the market, but for budget buyers like me, it’s a good moisturiser which keeps your skin hydrated, controls shine up to an extent and creates a wonderful base as a primer.
