It has been a very long time and it’s now that I have decided to come up with another article. I recently shifted to US and I found the climate totally different. I only used day crèmes and sun screens for my face earlier, which was completely fine for my skin. The change of location made my facial skin badly dry and flaky, that I couldn’t use my regular day crème, which made me look even more terrible. I also started developing red rashes all over my cheeks and chin. After trying a lot of brands, I finally fell in love with this budget-friendly Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel – Crème.
$5.99 for 1.7 oz.
My Experience with Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream For Dry Skin:
Generally, I don’t go for gels when it comes to moisturizers, as I find them not much moisturizing for my dry skin, but this Garnier moisture rescue gel crème is completely refreshing as the name suggests. It gives a cooling effect on application and this might be due the alcohol content in the ingredients list. The consistency of the gel crème is very light and similar to Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Thirst Relief (this one is just awesome!) and gets absorbed by the skin instantly. When I first applied this on my face, my skin just drank up all of it and felt soft instantly.
This pink color gel crème has a floral fragrance and is very mild on the skin. The fragrance lingers for only a few seconds after the application. This gel never irritated my sensitive skin and I had no breakouts upon using it.
Within 2 weeks time, after religiously applying it daily, my rashes are completely gone. I also switched from soap bar to shower gel, so I couldn’t say if it was because the combined effect or just the gel crème. I am also using this gel as my night recovery crème. It doesn’t clog the pores and is just great for the skin. When I wake up in the morning, I find my face so much fresh, glowing and soft. My skin gets so soft, that I couldn’t take my hands off my face.
As it gets instantly absorbed, I don’t have to wait to apply my foundation. This goes on well under my makeup and gives a dewy finish. This keeps my face hydrated for the entire day and I don’t need any reapplication. This gel crème doesn’t make my face look oily, but on humid days, it makes my T-zone oily and I need to apply compact over it. Otherwise, it provides the right amount of moisture to my face. Now it has been a month after using this product and my skin feels baby soft as it was earlier.
A little quantity runs a long way. This gel crème only moisturizes the skin and does nothing more. It is great for the summers, but I might need something heavy like crème based for winters. This gel is a total yes for the dry/normal skin and a skip for the oil skin beauties.
