Garnier Whole Blends Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter Extracts Smoothing Shampoo Review

Hello IMBBians,

I have developed a bit fetish for cocoa butter fragrances and have been picking them up whenever I see them. I have reduced eating chocolates and I have developed a fetish for cocoa based products, which is good I think  I recently picked up a shampoo from Garnier whole Blends range which had cocoa butter extracts. The conditioner was out of stock and I picked only the shampoo. Today’s review is all about Garnier Whole Blends Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter Extracts Smoothing Shampoo. Read on to know more.

My Experience with Garnier Whole Blends Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter Extracts Smoothing Shampoo:

The shampoo comes in a transparent brown plastic bottle with a bronzed colored flip cap. You can clearly see the quantity of the shampoo through it. The cap closes very tight and there is no leakage. The product comes unsealed. The design is sleek and if you want to carry this product irrespective of the bulky size, it can be a perfect travel companion. There is some information on the back but I have no idea what it says! If you are German deficient, then you need to look up to the website. The packaging is good and have no issues with it.

The shampoo has a gel like thick texture and is transparent. It is a little runny. I have no issues in the consistency of the shampoo. The fragrance is what I was looking forward to. But, it was never as I expected! It is a mixture of coconut oil and cocoa and the blend doesn’t seem to go very good. It lasts for a short period of time. There is a conditioner, leave on conditioner and oil available in the same range.

The product lathers very well. A little product is more than enough. I had oiled my hair and when I washed it I noticed that it felt a little oily and used the shampoo once again whilst in the shower. I have been trying so many shampoos lately and all of them give that squeaky clean feel and since I didn’t get that from this, I thought maybe the shampoo didn’t wash my hair but to my astonishment, after I dried my hair. I noticed that the oil was completely eliminated and even though I had shampooed my hair twice, my hair felt very moisturized and nourished. It definitely made my hair smooth and soft. I could feel the suppleness in my hair. The only thing I miss with my hair is a little volume. Since it is an oil based shampoo, I wasn’t expecting it either.

The product is free from silicones but is loaded with sulfates and SLS, which is a bummer. One of the issues I have with smoothing products is the fact that they make my hair straight! However, this shampoo retains the natural texture of hair and makes it feel lively and healthy. The product does tame flyaways and control frizz to some extent. Overall, it is a good product and worth a try. But, if you have oily scalp I would recommend to give it a skip. If you dry, dandruff prone scalp, you can use this for added moisture. So summing up.

Would I Recommend or Repurchase Garnier Whole Blends Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter Extracts Smoothing Shampoo?
If you have normal or dry hair, it is worth a try. But, I wouldn’t repurchase as I prefer volumizing shampoos.
